"I thought you're leaving early?"
I glanced at my side to see Lian scrolling through her phone.
"Ayaw mo ba ako rito? Scared I'll start a fight?" I smirked as I sensed that her attention are now all on me. Ang nakakahilong disco lights ay mas lalo pang nagpairita sa akin.
"What? No, c'mon dude! I was just asking." Natawa ako ng bahagya. My tongue is running through my front teeth. "Fucking moron." Bulong pa niya.
"I'm not leaving unless you let me meet that stupid boyfriend of yours."
Umayos pa ako sa pagkakaupo just to prove that I will not really leave. Why would I? Lian is the only friend I have. We were together since birth, nauna lang sya ng dalawang buwan. Our mothers are best friends, and so are we. Then all of a sudden, ibabalita nya sa aking nakipagbalikan na naman sya sa bobong Brian na iyon? Saying it was destiny and that they are meant for each other? That is bullshit. Brian is a cheater and I know she is aware of that.
Inangkla nya ang kanyang braso sa akin, at ipinatong ang baba sa balikat ko.
"Brian is not stupid. He's a good guy bub. Please tell me you're not mad at him."
Inalis ko ang braso nya sa braso ko at medyo umusog papalayo. I folded my arms on my chest and stayed firm as a stone. "Don't bub me around, Lian Alessandra. I'm pissed."
She squealed and whine and even tugged my arm, trying to get my attention.
"Why do you hate Brian so bad? I love him!" she said as if trying to convince me and justify what that jerk did to him in front of my fucking face.
I shook my head and gritted my teeth. "He is a fucking cheater, Lian! Don't try and act to be dumb on me." I hissed or probably shouted a little. I'm just a bit drunk, but I can't seem to calm down.
Ramdam ko ang panghihina niya nang bitawan nya ang braso ko. I did not budge nor give her a glance. I just closed my eyes tightly.
"That is so not true, Dan. I know, because he loves me."
That sounds like you're just trying to convince yourself, Lian. A total idiotic act.
I sneered and smirked sarcastically. It was her last straw before she left me alone on this stupid sofa.
"Fucking brat," I whispered as I gently massaged my pulsating temple.
Ilang minuto siguro ang nakalipas nang may naramdaman akong umupo sa gilid ko. It's probably just Lian so I did not open eyes and stayed there, leaning my back and my nape on top of the back rest.
"You are so annoying Adrian, nasa trabaho ako e! Bakit hindi mo pa 'to binigay sakin kanina?!"
Nangunot ang noo ko at dahan dahang napadilat. Napabangon pa ako sa pagkakasandal dahil sa gulat. Hindi ganito kalakas ang boses ni Lian.
And I was right. There were no traces of Lian, instead, it was of a stranger's. The girl is wearing a yellow off-shoulder dress with her hair tied up in a yellow ribbon. She was like the only glowing being in this dark corner.
Napalingon ito at ang bilugan nyang mga mata ang unang bumungad sa akin, bakas ang gulat at pagkapahiya. Dahan dahang ibinaba ang teleponong nakatapat sa kaliwang tainga. Nakatakip ang isang kamay sa bibig.
Parang biglang tumahimik ang buong bar.
"Hala, sorry sir! Naistorbo yata kita, uhm makikiupo lang sana?"
