"Hey, Nesibindi!" Nesibindi jumped and looked around. It was Zero, accompanied by a light tan lioness with green eyes. "Hatari said you could come on the hunt with us! Akhona is going to watch the cubs." The lioness Nesibindi took to be Akhona stepped forward. "Thanks," Nesibindi nodded to the lioness and went off with Zero.
Zero and Nesibindi trotted at the head of the hunting party. "Your brother was being weirdly nice to me earlier," Nesibindi said. "Sometimes he can have a bad first impression, but he's a nice guy." Zero suggested.
The pride life went on for a few weeks and Nesibindi, Zero, and Hatari hung out a lot. They'd take trips to the watering hole a lot or talk while they rested in the shade after a hunt. Nesibindi and Zero tried not to be seen alone together too much but at night they would go to the edge of the watering hole and spend time together while watching the moonlight dance over the water.
One day Nesibindi and Zero had just gotten back from the hunt when Zero said she needed to go get a drink. Nesibindi left to join the rest of the pride, but bumped into Hatari instead! "Uh... hi." Hatari greeted her. "Hey," Nesibindi said, hoping she didn't look as tired as she felt. "Can I talk with you for a bit?" Hatari asked, shuffling his paws in the dirt. "Uh... sure." Nesibindi agreed and followed him to the pride steppe full of barely-awake lionesses. The Pride steppe was the place where the pride stayed. It was two large boulders shaded under a large acacia tree. Hatari slept on top of the largest boulder, which had a flat top, because he was the leader of the pride, and Zero slept on the second-highest, being Hatari's sister and the hunt-chief. All of the other lionesses and cubs slept in the overhang of the boulders and the tree shaded the whole area.
"Nesibindi, I've been thinking..." Hatari trailed off while Nesibindi sat nervously beside him on the large rock. Hatari shook the semi-nervous look off of his face and replaced it with a kinder one. "I've been thinking, I need a mate. W-will you be my mate, Nesibindi?"
