The day before the wedding was absolute chaos. The whole town was bustling with energy. Everyone was invited so everyone was trying to get everything done the day before. There was a line around the block of the Lopez dress shop, everyone and their mothers was picking up their dresses and hoping to get something last minute.

The ceremony was going to happen outside the front door of Casita. Luisa was supervising men to bring chairs enough for everyone and placing them each in the perfect place. Isabella was creating thousands of flowers in whites and yellows and pale pinks. She created everything from centerpieces to bouquets and covered nearly every available surface. Camillo was shifting into whoever he could be most helpful as. Right now he was some child with small hands so he could tie perfect little knots in the string Isa was using to form bouquets. Antonio was telling all of his animal friends that they should stay out of the way tomorrow because it's a very important day. It wasn't exactly necessary but he was taking his role very seriously. Mirabel of course was overseeing the whole thing, sweeping up spots of dust and telling people where to set things. She was wonderful at those things.

Seeing the family work together was so pleasing. They were harmonious, understanding each other seamlessly and each bringing their expertise with them. They all understood the goal and worked together perfectly.

Your family on the other hand was not nearly as graceful. The bakery was tasked with making the wedding cake and it was not a pretty sight at the moment. The shop was blazing hot from all the ovens running at the same time, everyone was dripping with sweat and frantically trying to get everything done. Your father was mixing cake batter in massive drums, he handed them off to your brother who poured it into pans and put the pans into the ovens. As it turns out making cake for the entire town was not an easy task.

The morning of the wedding rain drizzled softly onto the cobblestone roads Pepa is already crying. You couldn't help but smile because you knew how excited she was for today. The town was quiet today, everyone getting ready in their own homes. Fathers were not fitting into their formal clothes quite the same as they used to, and children were twirling in their new dresses. This day meant a lot to everyone.

You got ready slowly, taking your time to make sure every hair sat in the right place and your makeup looked just right. When you finished you couldn't help but feel pride in yourself, and also, excited to have Luisa see you today.

The ceremony happened in the the early afternoon, once the shade covered the pathway to Encanto. The venue was absolutely stunning, Isabella absolutely outdid herself with the florals. The entire place felt dreamy and romantic.

People slowly trickled in for quite a while. After some time, the music played and the family slowly began coming down the very long aisle. Each sibling, cousin, aunt, and uncle dressed perfectly in deep jewel tones. Gold and plum and mustard. Abuela Alma shed a tear, which was. rare for her.

Luisa looked absolutely incredible, she was in a deep purple gown that made her look like royalty, her hair was partially down and her skin glittered like gold. You couldn't take your eyes off of her. She noticed your stare and quickly winked at you. You probably looked absolutely gobsmacked. You were so painfully in love with her.

You watched Luisa intently until Dolores came into view. She looked absolutely stunning. She was arm and arm with her father Felix, dressed in a gold suit that he was absolutely made to wear, he wore it effortlessly. Dolores' gown was long and silky, and clearly very expensive. It was handmade by the Lopez's. They absolutely outdid themselves. The skirt was long and full, wrapping around her and almost making her look like she was floating. Her hair was down, which was rare for Dolores, but it looked absolutely perfect. It draped gracefully over her bare collar bones and just barely hit the neckline of the dress. She looked like a fairy. Mariano's facial expression said it all, she looked perfect.

After the ceremony the doors to Casita flung open, inside there was food and drinks and music overflowing. The house was crammed with bodies, nobody minded though, everyone seemed to be laughing and smiling the whole way through. The party overflowed into the streets. One thing about Encanto residents is they loved to party. Even grandmas and grandpas kicked their shoes off and danced late into the night with drinks in hand. Half of the family gave toasts to the happy couple, Pepa was a mess and rained on everyone, the kids all cheered when she did.

You and Luisa were near to each other all night. Dancing together to both slow and fast songs. When it seemed like no one was looking she snuck you kisses. Both of you missed the mystery sometimes so it was fun to pretend like no one knew, even though that was clearly not the truth.

As the evening got later and later more slow songs played, Luisa wrapped her arms around you and yours rested on her neck. You slow danced together in the pathetic swaying way. You were both tired and sweaty.

Abruptly, something popped behind you, it made you jump from your sleepy sway, like you were in trouble or something.

You turned away from Luisa to face the pop, fireworks burst through the sky, you smiled up at them. They reminded you of childhood. Luisa wrapped her arms around you, they were bare and warm compared to the evenings breeze. She squeezed you tightly from behind, her warmth engulfed you.

You could feel her breath by your ear, She whispered, "This'll be us next, yknow?"

"Yeah?" You smiled, looking away from the sky for a moment to Dolores and Mariano, who were standing the same way you and Luisa were. They looked perfect, and so in love.

"Absolutely" Luisa kissed your cheek, Dolores turned back for a moment to look at you. She flashed that all knowing Dolores smile you knew so well.
