every afternoon, denzel would head to the beach and just watch the sunset until it reached five pm, except for fridays and the weekends. those days were the days he could stay until dark.
but, today was different.
"would you like to come over after school? we could watch a movie? or just hang out?" clementine asked.
was she being serious? they met yesterday and she's already inviting him to her house? he was definitely being punked.
'are you being serious?'
"why wouldn't i be? i think it'd be cool if you came, but it's completely up to you." she smiled, taking his pen from his hand before writing something down on a blank spot on his page. "that's the address. you can come as early or as late as you want, it's the weekend so it shouldn't matter that much."
denzel took the pen from her hand and circled the address the way clementine circled her house phone number. in a way, the circling helped him remember things.
the bell rang.
denzel began to pack his things before waving goodbye to clementine. he didn't like being late, so he rushed to leave.
hopefully it didn't give her the wrong idea.
