×Natalie's POV×
"What the bloody hell are you doing here?!"
When I went here, the last person I'd expect to follow me was Leon. Hadn't he been mad? Hell, he even avoided me like the plague! So why now? Why is he here now? When I'm in a dangerous state? I'm near to losing my mind, because of the incantation I'd recited. And the fact that my clan was under attack didn't help. If I ever give in to my vampire instincts, Kath would take over, and the possibility of things getting ugly was high. I might injure him, worst case scenario, I'd kill him!
Every Hunter knew that when a vampire's eyes were glowing this much, they were Rogue. So he should stay away right? I mean, I'm not Rogue, maybe it's because of the Royal blood running through my veins, but still, he should know better! What if I accidentally hurt him? What if he died? He should be more careful!
His eyes clearly stated the fact that he's scared, plus the fact that he sat there stiffly, so I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, an exercise that always calmed my nerves. But I can't seem to relax completely, probably because of paranoia. I just shrugged it off.
"Again, Leonel Cipher, I'm going to ask. What. Are. You. Doing. Here?!" I spoke through gritted teeth. The rage and fear of my clan being eradicated was making me feel on edge. I want to get this over with now, my clan might already be dead for all I know! I can't bear to waste another minute here doing nothing! I could be protecting my clan right now, since I've opened a tunnel for me to cross through the Lightning barrier, but no. I'm wasting my time here talking with a narrow-minded person!
He didn't reply immediately, but gulped first, and then he spoke. "I saw you... when you jumped off the building.. I followed you here. I.. I was worried... you seemed to be in a rush--"
"Seemed? Yes! Hell yeah, I'm in a rush! My clan members are dying because of another clan! What do you expect me to do?! Sit on a couch and eat popcorn while watching the National Geographic Channel?! What the hell, Leonel! I can't waste my time blabbering here! I don't have every minute in the world so can you tell me what you want to already?!" I said, opening my eyes as tears streamed down my cheeks. Losing my clan was not something I expected to happen... especially now... just when I was starting to be happy... to have friends... Can't I be happy for at least a week? Does having something means losing another thing you have? Was the world always this cruel...?
Leonel bit his lip and stared at the ground. A sudden rush of irritation went through me. What the freak?! I say all that and he looks at the ground like the grass was the most interesting object in the world?! Didn't he hear? My clan members were slowly being killed! "Leonel will you just say it?! Whatever that--"
"I want to help."
I blinked. And again. And again.
"What did you say?" I said slowly. Did he just say that he wanted to help?
He stood up, dusting his pants off, and then looked at me. "I said I want to help. Even if you're a princess, and of Royal Blood, you can't just... just go around making promises to kill a whole clan of vampires. You're only one. They're hundreds. Do you think you can win against them? Only by yourself?"
"But... even if you help me, we're only two. Plus you're just a Hunter. Not that I'm underestimating you, but Hunters don't heal as fast as a vampire does. You can bleed to death in seconds just by taking a blow to one of your vital spots. But me, I can just brush it off. It would heal within a second.
