"I'll agree with you there." I shrug and she laughs.
"You're done, now help me out." She says and I smile, helping her out with some sunscreen.
After that, I put some on the rest of my body and then returned to my towel, tucking my removed clothes into my bag and putting my hat back on.
"We're pretty lucky this year, Annie's a lifeguard so she can save anyone who might drown." Mark pipes up, trying to get a conversation going.
The whole group of people seem quiet as a whole, except Piper and her girls who are prancing around the beach, continuing to take pictures. I wasn't too sure why, but everyone seemed to be flushed, especially Chase and my roommates.
"What's going on?" I mouth to Abby who laughs, head tipping back.
"Bikinis." She mouths back and I chuckle.
"You're a lifeguard?" Chase asks and I nod. I thought I'd told him that, but maybe I'd just said I worked at the pool.
"Yeah, have been for a while." I shrug. "It's really fun, I like it." No.....I've definitely said that before. Do swimsuits really cause this much memory loss?
"Well, I say we do a toast to the new school year." Dustin says, opening the coolers and passing around beers to the group of people. I crack open the can and I hear everyone else to the same. "Cheers to all of us actually finishing school!" He says and I laugh.
We all tap them together as best we can and I enjoy a sip of the cool beer. I feel bad for the drivers as they all toast with a bottle of water instead. Walker looks especially irritated about it and I try not to laugh.
"You guys already started drinking?" Piper whines coming back over to the group and sitting down next to Walker. "Why didn't you wait for us?" She asks snuggling in closer and he clears his throat, shuffling away.
"Because we didn't have the heart to interrupt the Vogue shoot." Walker grumbles.
It was truly something else to watch them together, she was like a snake trying to wrap around him. I almost chuckle to myself thinking about Walker as a rat or even a hamster.
"What are you laughing about?" Abby asks, laying down on her towel next to me and I shake my head.
"Nothing." I admit.
But when I remembered that he always seemed disinterested sober, I remembered what everyone said about him drunk. I remembered him shoving Piper against the wall and shoving his tongue down her throat and how much I wanted to barf watching it happen.
"Alright." Mark says, pulling a football out of his bag. "Touch football, let's get it going."
"Mark you always ruin this day with your football." Abby sighs, turning over on her stomach and putting her forehead on her arms. "This is supposed to be relaxing."
"Alright, Abby's out." He shrugs, standing up and I chuckle. "Who's in?"
"I'm in." Dustin agrees. Darren nods and so does Chase, Ellis and Sydney have already taken off in a walk down the beach and Abby's not getting up.
"Annie? You up for it?" He asks and I laugh. Me and hand-eye coordination didn't get along, I also wasn't a runner so this really wasn't my sport.
"There's a reason I'm a swimmer, Mark." I laugh. "You guys have fun."
"Walk, you in?" He asks and before Walker can get a word out Piper chimes in.
"We'll all play." She smiles, looking at her clones and they all nod eagerly.
I was already sweating just laying here, I couldn't imagine trying to run around. Not to mention the guys would get competitive as hell.
