- Chapter 8 -

"Autism.."

The woman nodded as she started to get up and said;
"Oh! Wait, I think that was the kid that just came in a while ago. Wait here and I'll--"

Suddenly the woman stopped talking as she let out a laugh and started to sit down again;

Actually, I got a better idea--"

Confused, Jungkook was about to ask what her "better idea" was... when out of no where this woman starts yelling down the hall;

"CECILIA! CECILIA COME HERE!"

Jungkook awkwardly played with his fingers while the woman just started at her watch, as if that was going to make the girl appear out of thin air.

After about half a minute, Cecilia came out from down the hall, holding a binder and pen in her arms and before the poor girl can ask what was wrong, the woman started saying;

"There you are! Listen, this guy wants to see Austin. You know the little fre-- boy who came in here with a bunny inside a cage?"

"Oh Austin! Yes, I was just with him and little-"

"Yes, yes, yes, well.. this man here-- Jungkook? He says he wants to see him so could you take him to go see the little guy?"

"Right away Ma'am-"

"Wait before you do that.. you! You have to sign here."

The woman said harshly as motioned for him to stand closer to the front desk and once he did,  she shoved a clipboard at him with a pen tied to it then she continued by saying;

"W-Why am I suppose to sign-"

"Well are you just visiting or are you here to adopt and/or foster a child?"

She asked in a cold and annoyed tone, making Jungkook frown as he mumbled;

"I'm only visiting."

"Well if you're only visiting then you'll need to answer the first page, the next two pages you can mark off."

"Um.. okay.. thank you... I think?"

Jungkook awkwardly said, although it sounded a lot more like a question as the woman simply nodded at him as he sat down and started writing his name on the sheet of paper.

Once he was finished, he brought the clipboard back to the woman upfront and she allowed him to walk with Cecilia down the hall to where Austin was.

When he followed Celicla down the hall, he quickly took notice of the state of this.. Foster care place as the further in you walk.. the worse it looks. Jungkook could see that the walls looked even worse than they did in the lobby and the floor was a muddy brown color and the doors to the different rooms looked worn down with their cheap plastered on signs but not wanting to seem rude, Jungkook just kept his thoughts to himself and follow Celicla as she made small talk with him.

"And this is the boys room, now I'll call Austin and-"

But just as she was about to finish, Jungkook quickly said;

"I-I would like to go in there... well if that's okay."

"Of course! Here's just a quick warning though.. it's a bit crowded in there so you may want to stand."

After giving her a nod, Cecilia opened the door to the boys room and happily said;

"Oh boys! Someone's come here for a visit so make sure to be respectful and don't miss behave, okay?"

"Yes, Miss Cece!"

The boys said in unison with excitement in their voices with hints of nervousness in a few as Cecilia moved aside to open the door even more and with a slightly laugh she said;

"Austin.. I think you might know our special visitor!"

At her words, Austin scrunched up his face in confusion as to who she was talking but then he remembered about the kind bunny man who gave him Albert and soon.. an excited smile spread on his face.

And with much anticipation, Austin waiting for the moment to reunite with his friend and after a moment that felt like an eternity, Cecilia motioned for Jungkook to walk in, and the second he stepped foot into the boys room, Austin was the first one to get up with excitement as he saw the friendly face that helped him early;

"Hey Austin! Remember me?"

With an excited smile, Austin quickly nodded and without saying anything, he quickly ran to Jungkook and hugged him, much to Cecilia's surprise as Austin normally never gives hugs, mostly high fives and hand holds at night. So seeing seeing side of Austin made the girl smile and after telling the kids to behave again, Cecilia left Jungkook not before reminding him about his 1 hour visit.

After he thanked her again, Jungkook smiled as he carefully picked up Austin with hesitation.. but after Austin gave him a nod, Jungkook fully held the smaller boy in his arms as he said;

"Hey, I missed you buddy."

"Y-You... ddid?"

"Of course, I did."

As the two were having their small conversation, the rest of the boys that were huddled on their beds, were now starting to surround Jungkook after seeing how gently he was with Austin and after a while of admiring the man in front of them, all the boys started asking questions at the same time, while others complemented him.

"How llong.. are y-you staying for M-Mister?"
"SSir! Where did y-you.. get your jjacket?"
"I-I really like.. y-your hat!"
"What's.. your nname?"
"H-How old.. are y-you?"
"Your eearnings look r-really cool SSir!"

Noticing the way that they were all speaking, Jungkook wondered what all their ages were as some had more a stutter than others and some boys looked older than the others but before Jungkook could continue his thoughts, one little boy gently pulled on his jacket, asking Jungkook look down at him as he quietly asked;

"Um..S-Sir I was just wwondering.. aree you... llike u-us?"
