Paws trampled through the ground. It wasn't just paws, though. There were hooves, the feet of ducks, and wings whirring through the air. A yellowish female wolf ducked out of a bush. She flattened her ears as she heard screeches and screams of help. This was all her fault. What she had done.. was something unforgivable.
"Princess Dandelion."
Dandelion whipped around with a yowl.
It was just Storm.
She flattened her fur, and quickly said what she had to say.
"Oh, Storm! I think I've just done something unforgivable! I-I..." Dandelion paused, slipping her gaze away from Storm's gaze to the ground.
"Dandelion, tell me, what did you do?" Storm asked, his voice sounding so sweet, but she knew that Storm was probably mad.
"Shadow and me were doing something, but then I-" But before she could finish, animals with black fur trampled through the bushes, growling and screeching. Dandelion screeched, and Storm grabbed her by the scruff, pushed her ahead, and ran off, the black animals in pursuit.
Yowls pierced the air, then it became silent. The silence was broken by twitters of songbirds. It had never sounded so inappropriate for the morning to seem so happy, while there was trouble crouching in the shadows, waiting to spring.
Maybe, just maybe, it was time to choose the next elements.
