A/N: I actually had this in my draft a long time ago but just stopped randomly, I'm not sure why. Since I saw this here, I thought you guys could have it.

Ayanokouji sighed as he looked at the heavy downpour and looked around him as he saw everyone rushing home as school had just ended.
Even though the boy had an umbrella in his bag he decided against using it, reasons even he doesn't know why. As he was walking he decided to cease his movements and look up at the night sky. He couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity while looking the endless abyss.
Sighing once again, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka decided to continue moving forward in the wet rain without an umbrella. That is until his eyes came across a certain someone.
There, in the middle of the park, sitting in a swing with her head tilted slightly down, he saw Mahiru Shiina. There wasn't a soul in his school that didn't know her.
"You know... it's not smart to sit out in the rain like this. You could catch a cold."
Even though Ayanokouiji is only in his first year and doesn't have many friends, there wouldn't be anyone who knew her. Even though he himself isn't that popular, he had a fair share of girls come up to him because of his looks but backed off because of his monotone voice and apathetic face. He did get confessed to a few times, but that slowly decreased and most of the school had basically forgotten about him which was perfectly fine by him.
When he had moved in to a nearby apartment building, close to the school, he had ended up being the neighbour of the angel known throughout the school.
Even though this was considered a figure a speech, it would be considered a crime to lie and not think she's beautiful at all. Of course, things like this don't affect our protagonist in anyway.
Although if Ayanokouji did have anyway to describe her, he would think of her as a beautiful young lady, with pale milky-white skin and silky smooth hair.
Mahiru was the one thing people most commonly talked about as he overheard them from others conversations, she was at the top of her academics and was an ace in gym class as well. She was basically perfect on every aspect. Therefore, it's obvious that if the boys found out he was her neighbour, he'd definitely be glared at and be hated my most of the boys in his class, no his school for sure.
However, to him she was nothing but a neighbour that he doesn't make conversation with, therefore it wasn't a big deal for him. In reality he's glad he's staying away from someone like her as being close to her could be troublesome for him.
Either way, it still would be a lie if he said he wasn't interested in her. Not romantically though.
To some, she looks like a perfect angel that had fallen out of heaven and is perfect in every single aspect, especially with the smile she puts in in school. But to Ayanokouji, he could easily tell that she was hiding her real emotions and true self. Its not necessarily that she's upset with them but about something else. She hides behind that small smile she puts up, which is far from genuine but not fake. Mahiru is a rather popular girl, but even still she's not close with anyone particular.
Either way, he had always thought that she and him loved in different worlds far apart from each other.
Thus, Ayanokouji saw her sitting on a swing in the park that's between the school and the apartment building, seemingly to be in deep thought.
It's surprising to see her like this, she looks like she's about to break down. Ayanokouji thought.
As he kept looking at her, her face began to scrunch up as if she was about to cry and had a pained expression. So sighing for 100th time today, he made his way over to her and made his presence known by calling out to her.
"You know... it's not smart to sit out in the rain like this. You could catch a cold."
With the same, boring and flat tone he always spoke, Ayanokouji called out to her, which she turned her head towards him and in the process her wet, silky hair tossed in the opposite direction with water dripping on her face, bringing out her beauty. There seemed to be no make up or anything dripping down, which tells him that it's all natural.
However, as I approached her, her shoulder were slightly up and her eyes that had shown a mixture of emotions, were knowing showing that she's guarded.
It's only natural as I'm just a stranger to her and this is the first time we've ever spoken to each other. Ayanokouji thought in understanding.
"Ayanokouji? May I help you?"
Ayanokoji would be lying if he said he want a bit surprised as to her knowing her name, since they had never formally introduced one another. Ayanokouji also knew that even though they knew each others names, it wouldn't get her to drop her guard against him and still be a little wary.
"It's not that I need anything, but you could catch a fever being out in the rain like this."
Mahiru continued to look at him for a few seconds after he was done speaking, as if she was giving him analysis as to see whether or not he has an ulterior motive to initiate a conversation with her. Even though it obviously rendered useless, as she couldn't get anything out of him.
"Your one to talk, however I'm grateful for your concern, but it's needn't as I'm simply here because I want to be. Don't worry about me."
Her voice was listless, but it also seemed like she wasn't suspicious of me but still had no sign of opening up to Ayanokouji a little. That was fine by him, he didn't really care as to why she was here, but was merely curious.

"I see."
As he was thinking of leaving just then, his body started to move unconsciously and grabbed out the umbrella in his bag and handed it towards her, placing it into her hands and lap. Not knowing why, he just started speaking.
"Here, I'm not using it and it seems like you'll be sitting here for a while. So once your done, use this and there's no need to return it as I have a spare at home."
Mahiru seemed surprised as to Ayanokouji giving her this, and he was to. But he didn't necessarily want anything to do with her, therefore he had told her he didn't need it and if he did then she would feel the need to make it up to Ayanokouji. And what would be even more troublesome, is if she decided to return to back to him in public, which he prays she doesn't, because it would cause complications for him.
Without saying anything more, he turned around and left the park with his hands in my pocket and continued to look into the night sky.
He could hear Mahiru voice in the background like a faint whisper calling out to him but he decided to go ignore it as it was mostly drowned out by the rain.
As he was entering his apartment building, he couldn't help but wonder why he gave her the umbrella. Well it didn't matter to him as it would be the last time they ever spoke.
