"Sure"

Eddie grabbed some plates from the box, stacking them in the above shelf "you like Buck don't you?" He asked

Kate almost dropped the bowls she was holding, she put them down on the counter and turned to face him "what do you mean?"

Eddie opened the fridge and took out a bear, he offered one to Kate but she shook her head "well since he stayed at yours a few weeks ago, you've been looking at him differently"

"How could I look at him differently?" She asked, taking a sip of water

"I notice you watching him more intently, just like you did out there. It's okay, I won't tell him"

"There's nothing to tell" Kate denied "he's my friend, a really good friend and now I'm sharing an apartment with him. Simple" she shrugged

"I'm your friend, he's your crush" Eddie teased

"Edmundo Diaz, I will not hesitate to kick your ass"'she threatened, her accent growing thicker.

"Just admit it" he grinned

"Fine" she sighed "there may be a feeling or two, but nothing is or will be pursued" she pointed,

"and if you mention anything I'll kill you" she jabbed his chest

"I promise, not a word will leave my lips" he promised

...

Kate stood against the truck as wind whirled around them, having received a call about a helicopter that lost control and tried to land in a high school football field.

The noise alone made her ears ring, the sound if Athena yelling orders not helping.

"The pilot radioed they were having mechanical trouble. Looks like he tried to put it down - in the field over there."

"Yeah, it got close." Bobby shouted back

"Yeah, not close enough. Get down, people, move! Move! Go!" Athena ordered the remaining teenagers.

"All right, guys, we're gonna fan out, go behind those bleachers. Eddie, after we get the people out, you think you can kill that engine?" Bobby asked

"Think so, I'm just worried about the dynamic rollover."

"The dynamic what?" Buck asked

"We change the weight ratio by pulling people out, whole thing could tip over, rotors could snap off." He explained

"And then flying rocks are gonna be the least of our problems."

"All right, visors down. Let's go!" Bobby ordered

They ran towards the helicopter, climbing up the bleachers. Buck leaned inside the helicopter

"We might need some more weight on this side" Eddie called out

"I'm on it" Kate said, running to the other side "Buck you get her out and I'll slide in" she directed

"Alright" he nodded

Kate stood on the shaking frame of the door, keeping a watchful eye on Buck as the newscaster wrapped her arms around him, as Buck carefully pulled her out Kate slipped in, taking the newscasters seat

She gripped the edge of the seat, feeling he helicopter rock from side to side. Her heart hammering in her ears, along with the sound of the whirling helicopter blades.

She soon felt the shaking ease, her ears stopped ringing as the helicopter slowly calmed down and came to a stop.

"You okay?" Eddie called back

"Yeah, I'm all good"

Bobby soon stabilized the helicopter, Kate carefully jumped to the step below her, thanking god she was free of the death trap.

She and Eddie walked over and met the rest of the crew, Kate watched from afar as Buck seemingly flirted the with the reporter.

"Do I suspect a hint of jealousy" Eddie spoke, drawing Kate away from her stares

"You suspect nothing, because I don't care if Buck flirts with the news reporter"

"Her names Taylor, she's known for reporting traffic" Eddie informed her

"You are telling me this because?" Kate asked

"Thought you might like to know about he girl you are secretly scolding" he grinned, finding amusement in annoying his friend

Kate rolled her eyes at him, "you are so annoying" she hit his arm

Eddie laughed, moving away a few inches incase she decided to hit him again. Kate merely glared at him, a small smile creeping on her face as he joked with her

"You're lucky that you're my best friend,"

Eddie gasped "best" he held his heart

Kate held the bridge of her nose, she shook her head from side to side as she prayed for patience.
