SUMMARY

When Orion Black's death came as a result of a centuries-old blood curse, Walburga Black began to fear for her life. Her position as a woman in the House of Black and a member of the Sacred 28 secured her safety, but without her husband there was an air of danger that now surrounded her. Orion had died with many secrets, many of which she didn't know, and in a world where her family was a centerpoint of pure-blood supremacy and Voldemorts and the Death Eater movement in society, Walburga couldn't afford to stay there until those searching for answers which Orion once had found the home empty and gave up on their search.

And so Walburga made a choice. Once Regulus finished his final year at Hogwarts, they would make their way to a villa owned by the family for generations, yet lay unused by the family. She would bring it back to life, and under the guise of a holiday herself and Regulus could spend as much time they needed there.

It provided safety, and an escape from the dark cloud that had hung low over their lives for as long as she could remember.

For Regulus Black, he didn't care where he spent his summer. He had never had that choice before so it didn't matter so much that they weren't going to France or Scotland as usual, but instead Lombardy, Italy. He didn't care who is mother hired to wait on them hand or foot, he didn't care that the family who had been maintaining the villa for years lived there as well - although he much preferred the serenity that came with having a house-elf, he didn't care for the housekeeper's daughter, he didn't care that his mother wished for him to befriend her (as enchanting as he may find her) and he didn't care that he was supposed to appear an active member of the community in the nearby village.

He just wanted to keep to himself and await his exam results.

Yes, I already have a Regulus book out, and yes, I do use Anya as a faceclaim there as well. However despite my love for that plot I am going through a bout of writers block. And to deal with that and my love for Reggie, I decided to make this second book. And also, I have a weakness for books like this (as seen by Jane) and I live vicariously through what I write about, and writing about summer makes me happier than I care to admit.
