"Guys! Guys!" a boy yelled excitedly, running towards a group of people. "What is it Andre?" a
girl asked. "Tonight is the night where nightmares take reality!" Andre said excitedly. "And why
are you excited for that?" a boy asked. "Well... I can stay up and use it as inspiration for a
story!" Andre said.
"And why are you telling us?" another boy asked. "Well... I want you guys to come over and
experience it with me!" Andre said. "Well... Me and Devyn are going to watch a movie tonight,
but we can join you afterwards," the first boy said. "What about you Laney?" Andre asked the
girl. "I'd be happy, too!" Laney said. "Since summer starts tomorrow!"
"Well, I'm warning you though, we will have a babysitter because I still have Epilepsy..." Andre
said. "Cadet will be staying to watch us while my mom and siblings go visit my grandma."
"Why are you not going?" Devyn asked. "I'm not going because I wanted to experience tonight
and my mom is leaving the robot my dad invented behind to protect me," Andre explained.
"Also... I was supposed to go with Laney to Colorado for a short summer trip."
"That makes sense..." Devyn said. "Hey Jaylen, should we join them?"
"Nah... Me and my older sister are going to California in two days..." Jaylen said. "Well, we can
still hang out until then..." Andre said. "See you guys later tonight?"
"We'll be there," Devyn said.
Later that night...
"Andre... Why are you so interested in staying... don't you want to see your grandma?" Cadet
asked. "Well... I'm interested because I want to see how it happens..." Andre explained. "This
takes place only once every thousand years..."
"Well that makes sense..." Cadet said.
Ding Dong! "That must be Laney!" Andre said excitedly, rushing to open the door. "Welcome!"
Andre said. "Come on in!"
"Thank you!" Laney said. "So are you excited for tonight?" Andre asked. "Yes, I can't wait to see
all the nightmares become reality!" Laney said, excitedly. "Calm down you two... Don't get too
excited... remember this could be so dangerous..." Cadet said. "We know, but this is the first
time my mom is allowing this," Andre said. "Now let's get to the attic, there should be things we
can use to watch the night happen... There should also be things we can use to entertain
ourselves before it starts..."
In the attic...
"When do you think it will start?" Laney asked, moving her chess piece. "I'm not sure, but Devyn
and Jaylen are taking a while to get here..." Andre said, moving his chess piece. "I agree, they
are taking their time, it's been more than an hour..." Laney said, moving another piece.
"Checkmate..."
"Darn... I was so close too..." Andre said. "How are you two up here?" Cadet asked, opening
the entrance to the attic. "Are you guys hungry?"
"Are you hungry?" Andre asked Laney. "Yeah... I could go for a snack..." Laney said. "Okay, I'll
bring you a snack..." Cadet said, closing the attic door.
Boom! "What was that?" Qandre asked, running up to the window. A bright black light came
from the center of Emerald Avenue and slowly grew until it surrounded the whole street. "What's
going on?!" Laney asked. "I think it's starting!" Andre replied.
The room went dark once more.
"Woah..." Andre and Laney both said. "Are you two okay?" Cadet asked, opening the attic door.
"We're okay," Andre said.
Ding Dong! Ding Dong!
