The Wind

That night, the wind howled and weaved itself between the houses on my block, keeping me from the peaceful sleep that I craved
It kept my mind racing and I thought about what it would be like to be you
To be so free
To never have to worry about the things that I do
Sure, you have worries
But not mine
And I would give anything to not live this life
To not love with these worries
So, I let the wind take me that night
I blew away along with it
Right from between my bloodstained sheets to be
swept across roof tops and between tree branches, weightlessly
Letting myself be free, just like you
