84. Love Over Power

3rd Person Omniscient POV

"What?!" DreamXD turns to Y/N.

She opens the book and reveals the words

DreamXD

written on the page.

He lets out a cry of fury and lunges for the book but she moves aside as he continues to disappear.

"I'll die slower since I'm a god but why did you choose him over me?" he asks, his robes starting to turn into green particles. "Why don't you choose to rule this Smp?"

"I was tempted to join you and rule the Smp but when you left me alone in the library, I found something. A note, hidden inside a book. It told me that your weakness is the Death Book and that your power is stored in a necklace. It said that you were going to find them and get power through the death and revival of people. You want chaos so you can become more powerful and that they might be gone soon."

"You knew," he spat. "You knew I just wanted you to kill people."

"Yes, I also figured out some more info and I didn't want history to repeat itself. I learned from a different book that you grew up with a childhood goddess friend called Jean. She created the Death Book and you created the Revival Book. After she saw how corrupted with power you had become, she tried to use the Death Book on you. She failed and you managed to defeat her. I went to the End and found out that you cursed her to be the Ender Dragon and spread the rumor that whoever kill her and took the egg would be blessed with power. You did that to ensure that more people would die so you could gain more power."

XD clenches his fists with a growl.

"I knew that if I didn't obey, you would do the same to me."

"But why? You knew that you could have all the power you could have ever wanted!" He spreads his arms to gesture around although they're not very solid anymore.

"Because I don't want power, I cared about you, but when I knew the truth, I stopped caring. I love Dream and I always have. I risked everything for him, I broke him out of prison, I spent time with him, I helped him enact his revenge, I convinced him to change his ways. I know Dream way better than I know you."

"But why would you choose love over power?"

XD's halos have faded and his robes are already almost faded.

"I listen to my heart, I feel love and even though power is tempting, I would be trapped under your control forever."

"We could have had it all!"

"You could have had it all, your power would continue to increase with the power of death and revival."

"Why am I not surprised?" he growls. "Jean was the same way, she cared about useless and weak things like love and emotions. She saw right through me, just like you did. Unlike her, you killed me." He sounds slightly hurt but mostly frustrated.

"I'm sorry XD, we could have been friends, but it just had to end this way."

DreamXD is glowing brighter and brighter now, a golden glow coming out from his chest.

"NO! REVIVE ME! I KNOW YOU CAN FIND THE BOOK! REVIVE ME AND I PROMISE THAT I WILL LET YOU DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! REV—" with his final words, the god explodes into a shower of glimmering gold dust and sparks.

As everyone backs up, Y/N watches his white mask with an XD symbol on it and his necklace, fall to the ground.

These need to be kept safe, until I can figure out what to do with them.
