Sofia and Camilo made their way home for dinner. They arrived to all the normal chaos of setting the table and getting ready for dinner.
Camilo went upstairs and into his room.
Sofia went to talk to Alicia while everyone got ready for dinner. Camilo had told her there was going to be a surprise for the family at dinner and she wanted to talk to Alicia about what it could possibly be. Neither of them had any clue what it could be. However, both of them loved a good surprise.
They ran down. It was now time for dinner. Everyone had finally managed to get the table set.
Camilo came down the stairs. Sofia noticed her uncle walking down the stairs.
He had something in his arms. Sofia couldn't really make out what it was from a distance. Everyone watched him as he came closer.
Sofia was desperately trying to make out what was in his arms. She couldn't figure what it was for the life of her. She eventually stopped trying and figured Camilo would tell her.
"Hola, everyone."
"So, what was that surprise you had for us?" Sofia asked.
He held the object up. "This is Ana." It was a small girl, probably about the age of four.
Alicia and Sofia gasped simultaneously.
"I uhm," Camilo mumbled to himself with a light blush on his cheeks.
"Oh my gosh, she's adorable!" Alicia exclaimed.
"She is."
"So that's why you were at the orphanage recently." Sofia recalled.
Camilo nodded, suddenly feeling shy. Everyone seemed ecstatic by this new addition to their family.
"She's so cute," Luisa said softly. Everyone agreed.
"How old is she?"
"Four and a half."
"Oh, when is her birthday?" Alicia asked.
"October 10th."
"Not too far away, huh?" Sofia said.
"Yep." Camilo gently set her down.
Alicia waved at Ana after Camilo set her down. Ana shyly waved back and looked back at Camilo with her head tilted.
"Shy one, isn't she?" Alicia questioned Camilo.
"A little bit, yeah." He got Ana some food.
Sofia and Alicia were excited to have a direct cousin finally. Sure, Luisa's three sons and Isabela's daughters and son are their first cousins twice removed, but they didn't have a direct first cousin until Camilo adopted Ana.
Ana grabbed a fork and started to slowly eat the food. Her face lit up in the cutest of ways.
Alicia and Sofia both held back the urge to "awwww" at their new cousin.
Diego started to try and talk to her. "Hi! ImDiego!" He spoke fast.
Ana tilted her head at him.
"Diego, give her some room, hermano." Mateo said to his older brother.
"Iwannagettoknowherthooooo."
"Calm down." Mateo put his hands on his brother's shoulders.
Diego took a deep breath and calmed himself down.
