"Victorie Quinn! Are you dressed? Our guests will be here any minute." My grandmother yells up the stairs to me. I quickly scramble out of my bed and check my phone. It's five minutes till seven, and I'm not even close to being presentable.

"Yes! Just one minute." I yell back down as I put on a tight-fitting red dress and heels. I quickly brush out my hair and add a new layer of lipstick. I also touch up my mascara and head downstairs. Just as I get to the edge of the stairs I hear the front door being opened.

"Hi, Grandma." I hear a voice I despise say. As I take a closer look I realize who the "important" dinner guests are.

"Well, you're right on time," Grandma says.

"Yeah, yeah, no traffic at all." Lorelai, aka my birth giver states. As she and Rory, aka the perfect daughter, make pleasantries with grandma I take it upon myself to make a drink from the mini bar in the parlor.

"Hello, grandpa," I tell Grandpa as I sit down with my whiskey and coke.

"Richard, Victorie, look who's here," Grandma says dragging Rory into the parlor. Once grandpa looks up, all his attention goes to Rory. I zone out for part of the conversation.

"Lorelai, your daughter is tall," Grandpa tells the birth giver as I start to feel left out.

"Yeah, Rory and I are both tall," I state emphasizing the I. Once Rory comes into the picture, it's like everyone forgets about me. I hate that I have to remind them I am here also.

"Champagne anyone? It's not every day I have my girls here for dinner on a day the banks are open." Grandma says as she speaks to Lorelai and Rory.

"Well, you have one that's here when the banks are open," I mutter not understanding why my presence is necessary.

"A toast to Rory entering Chilton and an exciting new phase in her life," Grandma says and I almost spit my drink onto the carpet.

"Um excuse me. She's going to school with me? This can not be happening." I immediately say. It's like she all of the sudden wants my life. She already has a mom and part-time father, the grandparents, and now she's going to have my school too.

"Yes, it's just wonderful. Education is the most important thing, next to family." Grandma tells as everyone else sits down. Yeah some family, I say in my head. While Grandpa and Rory read the paper, I'm texting Logan.

Why What's wrong?

The important guests are my birth giver and her other daughter.

Yikes, be there in 30. Can you make it that long?

Yeah

Love you

Love you

Once I put my phone away it's time for dinner. we all sit at the table, Rory and Lorelai sit opposite of me. Everyone makes small talk as we eat. Well, everyone except me. I zone out until Grandpa brings up Christopher, aka my sperm donor. All of a sudden Lorelai storms up from the table. At the same time, my phone vibrates.

"Grandpa I have to go, Logan's here to get me," I tell grandpa as I grab my purse.

"Okay. Have a good night. Tell Logan goodnight for me." Grandpa kisses my cheek, and I walk out the door hearing the end of Lorelai and grandmas argument.

"Thank you so so much," I tell Logan as I get in his car. Just as I get in and put my seatbelt on, Rory and Lorelai walk out the front door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Lorelai asks as she comes up to the car door.

"The same place I always go to on Friday nights. If you made an effort in my life, you would know." I snap back at her and look at Logan, he silently asks me if I'm ready to leave. With one simple nod, we leave my house and head to his house. It takes everything I have to not cry because of how mad I am. Before I know it, we are at his house.

"Come on Darlin, I have the snacks, movies, and alcohol waiting for us," Logan says as he takes my hand and leads me upstairs to his room.

When we get to his room, we both change. I change into one of his shirts, and he changes into a pair of shorts. Before we get into his bed I ask him, "you'll never abandon me right? You'll never pick someone else over me? You'll always be there right?"

Logan looks at me for a minute before hugging me. He whispers in my ear, "I will always be there for you. Always. I love you, you know that?"

"Yeah, I do. I love you." we separate from the hug and lay down turning on our first movie. The perfect way to end an awful day, watching movies with the one I love.
