There you are - waiting and waiting and waiting. After what feels like an hour Kazuha still hasn't come back and you can't go back to sleep while having some hope for food left inside you. The sun is even rising by now.
You look at the people who slowly gather around the battle ground and envy everyone with breakfast in their hands.
Time passes and just when the contest seems to start, Kazuha finally returns. "I wasn't sure what food you prefer so I got you some of every kind." In his hands is a plate with a very wild mix of simple dishes.
"Thank you. I thought that you forgot me... How did you manage to get this pile of food up this tall rock though?"
"Balance and a perfect route to climb.", Kazuha explains.
Together you two enjoy the food while watching the contest go down. Just as you predicted, Aether aces the first two rounds.
"I wonder if your friend will be able to awake the sleeping vision... His strength is certainly worth some admiration."
You shake your head. "I doubt it. I don't think that anyone is capable of awakening a vision unless their ambition matches the one of the prior owner."
"Is that so?"
"Dunno. It's only an assumption.", you shrug. "Ah, if we're already at that topic: I would recommend that you guard that vision. My senses tell me that somebody will try to steal it."
"Your senses?"
"Don't question the senses."
"In that case you wouldn't mind if I stayed with you a little bit longer, right? This position is ideal for observation."
"No problem. Having someone human around makes this less boring anyways."
The day continues and you and Kazuha don't avert your eyes from the box the vision is in, or at least you try to. Kazuha has no problems to stay focused but you on the other hand fall asleep at some point. When you wake up again, you find yourself leaning on Kazuha's shoulder. Blushing you quickly back away. "S-sorry..."
Kazuha shakes his head and stands up. "No need for that. Your timing, in fact, is perfect. The thief you predicted has made his move just now."
"Means we only have to catch him now and the problem will be solved~", you cheer.
"No, we won't. We should give him some time and confront him later. Vision are awa-"
"Sorry to crush your hopes but that's not going to work."
"You sound so certain of it. As if you already know what is going to happen. This is an impression I already got earlier but you really do act as if you know what exactly is going to happen. Do you, perhaps, have the ability to see the future?"
Smiling awkwardly, you face Kazuha who appears as calm as always. "...You could put it that way, yes. Your observation skills are kinda scary... Please remember that this information is highly confidential." Seeing Kazuha open his mouth again, you continue. "And before you ask yes, this might have contributed to the fact that certain people are looking for me."
"My lips will stay sealed. Now then, let us catch the thief."
Even if your support isn't all too much needed, you accompany Kazuha from a safe distance and manage to retrieve the inactive vision. He brings it back and explains what has happened. Due to the fact that the thief was one of the finalists, Beidou has to put an end to the contest and Aether is announced as the winner.
A few hours later, since all random strangers have left, you can finally meet Beidou's crew. But of course, you're not going to make a simple and basic entrance. No, your plan is to scare the shít out of Aether. He didn't do anything wrong, but some fun is necessary from time to time. Carefully you climb up a rock and position yourself in a way that allows you to jump down next to Aether without breaking anyone's bones. Despite the fact that your movements are absolutely silent Kazuha still manages to notice you. Luckily, he seems to have nothing against your plans and merely smirks.
Having reached the perfect position, you finally take your chance and jump right behind your friend while screaming 'boo!'. The not so lucky part about the whole thing is that Aether has reflexes and those reflexes tell him to punch the person who snuck up on him in the face. You black out.
Once you regain consciousness, you hear several voices around you and feel how your body swings slightly back and forth and how gently somebody rubs your right hand. Opening your eyes, you see Aether and Paimon to your right, Rosa on your chest and Beidou and Kazuha in the far-left corner.
"(Y/N), you're awake! I am so, so sorry! I didn't mean to knock you out. Please forgive me!", Aether blurts out.
You pet the blonde's head. "Don't... worry about it. I should have expected that you react this way..."
"A real surprise you gave us there. Does your head feel dizzy? Do you want something to drink?" Beidou stands up and walks towards your bed.
"No thank you. My head hurts but it's alright. Other topic: Are we on a ship already?"
Paimon nods.
You sigh relieved. "Finally, a new region. Hopefully more decent than the last one..."
