The dazzling golden light of the sun illuminated the sleepless New York streets. The citizens hustled and bustled to get to their stressful routines and jobs, like ants in a colony. Everyone felt like they were disorganized, yet they were organized.

In the warm cozy apartment currently inhabited by three vigilantes, Kate's eyes fluttered open to the dulcet sounds of the New York population.

Immediately, she became aware of an arm draped across her stomach, and flashes of last nights events went through her mind, bringing a fond smile to her lips.

Her and William were currently splayed out on the bed, with the pseudo vampire being the big spoon.

They were wearing clothes.

The young archer slowly turned around to look at the Stark boy and was met with the cutest sight in the world.

The vampire's mouth was slightly agape, soft snores escaping his lips. His hair was a messy clump of chaos. Individual strands were sticking out in every direction. Every now and then, he  would make motions with his mouth and random noises would come out of his throat.

It was the definition of cuteness.

However, she couldn't help but notice the innate peace he was in right now. The times she had, not creepily, watched him sleep, there was an ever-present frown on his brows. Heavy breaths and quivering lips never left his body. Everytime he was awake, he always seemed lost in his thoughts. Always zoning out. Eyes darting around, looking for threats. It didn't seem like he was afraid of threats, but more like he was looking for them.

Kate knew he had a troubled past, it's like a pre-requisite for superheroes, but she didn't know how deeply it affected William Anthony Stark.

But right now, those troubles seemed to have disappeared, as if washed away by a strong current.

She could just stay here and admire the Stark boy all day, but she needed something very important to her survival.

Coffee.

So, she carefully left the bed, brushed her teeth and left for the kitchen, but not before pressing a soft kiss on the Vampire's forehead.

After a few minutes, William's eyes fluttered awake. His hand immediately went to his side to find Kate, but was only met with the coldness of the bedsheet.

A frown settled on his face, but was quickly replaced with a smile at the recollection of last night.

He felt awfully chipper today.
