Alyssa jumped to a dark Tardis. She looked around and saw nobody. She knew it was the Ninth or tenth’s Doctor's Tardis due to the design of the Console. She opened the Tardis door to see that she was in some sort of cubby with a closed door in front of her. She pressed her ear to the door and heard people talking she turned around and walked into the Tardis as she began digging her hand through her pockets before she came across the box she put the parts to the perception filter that the Doctor made her. She spent the next 30 minutes putting it back together and slipped it over her neck. She quickly and quietly slipped out into the room and stayed near the back of the room as she saw a room with many computers and a female hooked up to wires. Her attention was taken from the female when she heard Rose’s voice from one of the monitors.
“ How should I know?” Rose said, laughing,
“No, the correct answer is Lord Drayvole.” A robot female voice said,
“ Why's she laughing?” A woman  said,
“Rodrick: in maths, what is nine squared?” The robot said again, and Alyssa closed her eyes as she went through her head for the episode this was. If it was one.
“Oh, my God, I don't think she knows.” A woman said,
“ And I've got a housemate who appeared out of nowhere. I told you, it's like the game's running itself.” A man said, and with that Alyssa’s eyes snapped open, she knew exactly where she was. She slowly made her way to the door and snuck to the lift and no one noticed as the lift door closed and went down to floor 56 which the Doctor was on. She rushed out of the lift and to a control panel.
“Where are you…” she muttered under her breath as she racked her brain for what to do. As she brought out her Sonic Pen and started hacking into the system trying to find out what Big Brother House the Doctor was in. She spent a good amount of time trying to hack into the system, until she heard a voice. She sighed in relief as she knew exactly who that voice was.
“ Hold on. I've been here before. This is Satellite Five. No guards. That makes a change. You'd think a big business like Satellite Five would be armed to the teeth.” The Doctor said, and he barely noticed Alyssa as she ran at him and hugged him.
“Doctor.” She whispered, and the Doctor immediately gave back the hug, as he recognized the voice.
“Ally.” He muttered before he let go of her “what are you doing here?”
“I jumped to an empty Tardis, managed to get enough information to know where you were.”
“Sorry excuse me Im Lynda, you must be the Alyssa the Doctor was talking about. No one's called it Satellite Five in ages. It's the Game Station now. Hasn't been Satellite Five in about a hundred years.” Lynda said,
“A hundred years exactly.” Alyssa muttered,
“It's the year two zero zero one zero zero. I was here before, Floor one three nine. The Satellite was broadcasting news channels back then. Had a bit of trouble upstairs. Nothing too serious. Easy. Gave them a hand, home in time for tea.” the Doctor said, as he walked to different doors and soniced them.
“A hundred years ago? What, you were here a hundred years ago?” Lynda asked,
“Both of us were.” Alyssa said, as she looked up at words she could barely make out but knew exactly what they were ‘bad wolf’
“Yep!” the Doctor said, confirming for Lynda they were in fact here a hundred years ago.
“You're looking good on it.” Lynda said,
“I moisturize. Funny sorts of readings. All kinds of energy. The place is humming. It's weird. This goes way beyond normal transmissions. What would they need all that power for?” The Doctor asked,
“I don't know. I think we're the first ever contestants to get outside.” Lynda said,
“I had two other friends traveling with me. They must've got caught in the same transmat. Where would they be?” The Doctor said, looking at Alyssa who was still staring at the words.
“I don't know. They could've been allocated anywhere. There's a hundred different games.” Lynda said,
“Like what?” The Doctor asked,
“ Well, there's ten floors of Big Brother. There's a different House behind each of those doors. And then beyond that, there's all sorts of shows. It's non stop. There's Call My Bluff, with real guns. Countdown, where you've got thirty seconds to stop the bomb going off. Ground Force, which is a nasty one. You get turned into compost. Er, Wipeout, speaks for itself. Oh, and Stars In Their Eyes. Literally, stars in their eyes. If you don't sing, you get blinded.” Lynda said,
“And you watch this stuff?” The Doctor asked,
“Everyone does. How come you don't?” Lynda asked
“Never paid for my license.” The Doctor said,
“Oh, my God! You get executed for that.” Lynda said,
“Executed for not having a TV license?” Alyssa asked,
“Let them try.” The Doctor said, holding up his sonic screwdriver,
“You keep saying things that don't make sense. Who are you though, Doctor, really?” Lynda said,
“It doesn't matter.” The Doctor said,
“Well, it does to me. I've just put my life in your hands.” Lynda said,
“I'm just a traveler, wandering past. Believe it or not, all I'm after is a quiet life.” The Doctor said,
“So, if we get out of here, what're you going to do? Just wander off again?
“Fast as we can.” Alyssa said,
“So, I could come with you?” Lynda said, looking at the Doctor.
“Maybe you could.” The Doctor said,
“I wouldn't get in the way.” Lynda said,
“I wouldn't mind if you did. Not a bad idea, Lynda with a Y. But first of all, we've got to concentrate on the getting out. And to do that, you've got to know your enemy. Who's controlling it? Who's in charge of the satellite now?” The Doctor said, and Alyssa moved her gaze back up to the almost invisible letters. As Lynda looked around the room,
“Hold on.” Lynda said before her eyes fell on a light breaker and walked over to it and switched it on. Revealing the words Alyssa had been staring at to the Doctor. ‘Bad Wolf Corporation’ “Your lords and masters.” Lynda finished.
The three entered the lift and started up towards the observation deck. The Doctor was staring at Alyssa for a majority of the ride.
“What?” she finally muttered as she could feel his eyes on her, for the last time.
“You are really quiet, it's weird.” The Doctor said,
“Yeah, well i'm thinking.” Alyssa muttered,
“About?” The Doctor asked,
“Spoilers.” she said simply looking back at him, seeing him finish nodding “What happened? I  been so confused, not long ago, you told me you didn’t trust me. I don’t believe that could’ve changed overnight.”
“It didn't, there is a part of me that still doesn’t fully trust you and probably can’t but it's buried deep down. Because I know deep down that you wouldn’t lie to me. And I trust you enough to take your advice to heart.” The Doctor said, and Alyssa felt her hearts constrict. After everything that had happened, he still didn’t fully trust her. But enough trust right now was good enough for her.
“Okay.” She said softly before turning back to the lift doors right when they got to the observation deck. The three stepped out and looked at earth,
“Blimey! I've never seen it for real before. Not from orbit. Planet Earth.” Lynda said, as she stared at Earth, which didn’t look like it was supposed to.
“What's happened to it?” The Doctor asked
“Well, it's always been like that Ever since I was born. See that there? That's the Great Atlantic Smog Storm. It's been going twenty years. We get newsflashes telling us when it's safe to breath outside.” Lynda said, pointing down at a cloud
“So the population just sits there? Half the world's too fat, and half the world's too thin, and you lot just watch telly?” The Doctor asked,
“Ten thousand channels, all beaming down from here.” Lynda said,
“The Human Race. Brainless sheep being fed on a diet of. Mind you, have they still got that programme where three people have to live with a bear?” The Doctor said,
“Oh, Bear With Me. I love that one!” Lynda said,
“And me. The celebrity edition where the bear got in the bath.” The Doctor said, Alyssa frowning as she looked between the two.
“Got in the bath!” Lynda said,
“There is a time and a place.” Alyssa said,
“But it's all gone wrong. I mean, history's gone wrong again. This should be the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire. I don't understand. Last time I was here I put it right.” The Doctor said
“No, but that's when it first went wrong. A hundred years ago, like you said. All the news channels, they just shut down overnight.” Lynda said,
“ But that was me. I did that.” The Doctor said, and Alyssa shook her head
“We did that.” Alyssa said,
“There was nothing left in their place. No information. The whole planet just froze. The government, the economy, they collapsed. That was the start of it. One hundred years of hell.” Lynda said,
“Oh, my. I made this world.” The Doctor said, as he turned to look back at the earth.
“We made this world.” Alyssa said,
They stared at the earth for a little while longer until the lift opened and Jack stumbled out of it.
“Jack!” Alyssa yelled and launched herself at him, him dropping the gun in shock as he hugged her
“When did you drop in?” Jack said, a small smile forming on his face.
“A while ago,” Alyssa said, before she took a step back. Jack nodded and turned to the Doctor.
“Hey, handsome. Good to see you? Any sign of Rose?” he asked,
“Can't you track her down?” The Doctor said,
“She must still be inside the games. All the rooms are shielded.” Jack said, and Alyssa turned away from the two and rubbed her hand down her face.
“If I can just get inside this computer. She's got to be here somewhere.” The Doctor said as he tried to hack into the computer, she turned around and looked at the lift, and back at the Doctor contemplating something.
“Well, you'd better hurry up. These games don't have a happy ending.” Jack said,
“Do you think I don't know that?” The Doctor said, as Jack took off his wrist computer and held it out to the Doctor.
“there you go, patch that in. It's programmed to find her.” Jack said,
“Thanks.” The Doctor said, taking it and patching it in to find Rose. Jack turned around and walked up to Lynda.
“Hey, there.” Jack said, starting to flirt with her,
“Hello.” Lynda said,
“Captain Jack Harkness.” Jack said,
“Lynda Moss.” Lynda said,
“ Nice to meet you, Lynda Moss.” Jack said, the flirting more evident,
“Stop it.” Alyssa called out as she had joined the Doctor in trying to find Rose.
“Do you mind flirting outside?” The Doctor said, right at the same time Alyssa spoke.
“ I was just saying hello!” Jack said,
“For you, that's flirting.” Alyssa and the Doctor said together,
“I'm not complaining.” Lynda said,
“ Muchas gracias.” Jack said, before he rejoined the Doctor.
“It's not compatible. This stupid system doesn't make sense.” The Doctor said,
“This place should be a basic broadcaster, but the systems are twice as complicated. It's more than just television. This station's transmitting something else.” The Doctor said,
“Like what?” Jack asked,
“I don't know. This whole Bad Wolf thing's tied up with me. Someone's manipulated my entire life. It's some sort of trap and Rose is stuck inside it.” The Doctor said,
“No, it's not tied up with you Doc, it's tied up with me.” Alyssa said,
“What does it mean?” The Doctor asked, staring at her,
“Something only I have to worry about right now.” Alyssa said, and the Doctor frowned as he looked at her confused, he opened his mouth to say something “Trust me.” she said softly, and the Doctor closed his mouth and stared at her, “Please.” she begged and the Doctor finally turned away from her, “I'm sorry.” She whispered before she ran into the lift.
“Alyssa?” Jack and the Doctor said together, but she pressed the floor number and soniced the doors closed before either one of them could get in the lift with her. She put her hand to her head
“Please let me be fast enough.” She muttered before she rushed out of the hallway and to the door she knew Rose was behind she ripped open the control panel and started sonicking the wires she tried to get open.
“Alyssa!” She heard the Doctor yell minutes later, but she ignored him as she finally let out an
“Ah ha!” She said and the door opened, “Rose!” She yelled and Rose started running towards her, Alyssa threw up her hand as she focused and golden dust flew around the Robot, she knew was armed, and her hand and she ran forward towards Rose as the robot slowed down as it turned towards them. Alyssa grabbed Rose’s arm before she yanked her behind her, looked at her and smiled, as the golden dust faded from her hand and around the robot. The robot returned to full speed as it opened its mouth and fired where Rose once was, However Alyssa wasn’t fast enough to duck herself as the ray hit Alyssa’s back and she disappeared. Leaving behind a pile of dust. The Doctor who ran after her dropped to his knees beside Rose as he looked at the dust, his face null of emotion.
“ What the hell did you do to her?” Jack yelled, as Rose , tears flowing down her cheeks,
kneeled by the Doctor, she reached out a shaking hand to the Doctor’s shoulder,
“Doctor?” she whispered, but he didn’t answer her as he stared at the remains of Alyssa. Reaching down and touching it.  As the others  struggled with the guards
“Back off!” Jack yelled.
“I need security and I need it here right now! It's this lot.” A guard said, before he turned to the Doctor and went to grab him.
“Don't you touch him! Leave him alone!” Jack yelled, as the guard took the Doctor’s arm. While another was trying to grab Jack.
“Sir, put down the gun or I'll have to shoot.” The guard said,
‘You killed her! Your stupid freaking game show killed her.” Jack yelled out, as a guard put cuffs around his wrists.
“Sir, I'm arresting you under Private Legislation Sixteen of the Game Station Syndicate.” The guard said that had grabbed the Doctor, before he took the others to a holding cell. Before they were almost put inside a cell.
“Let's do it.” The Doctor said, before Jack started fighting his way out. the Doctor retrieving his stuff back as Lynda took the weapons. Before they ran into a lift.
“Floor 500.” The Doctor said turning around to floor 500, and cocked, a gun.
“Okay, move away from the desk! Nobody try anything clever. Everybody clear. Stand to the side and stay there.” Jack said the four running forward right when the lift opened.
“Who's in charge of this place?” The Doctor said,
“Nineteen, eighteen.” a woman that was hooked up to a bunch of wires said,
“This Satellite's more than a Game Station.” The Doctor said, pointing the gun he was carrying up at her.
“Seventy nine, eighty.” she said,
“Who killed Alyssa?” the Doctor said,
“All staff are reminded that solar flares” the woman said, almost like she could not hear the Doctor.
“I want an answer!” The Doctor yelled,
“Occur in delta point one.” the Doctor said, “She can't reply. Don't shoot!” The Doctor turned and pointed the gun at him.
“Oh, don't be so thick. Like I was ever going to shoot.” The Doctor said before he threw the gun at him before he turned to Jack, “Captain, we've got more guards on the way up. Secure the exits.”
“Yes, sir.” Jack said, as he walked away to do what the Doctor asked,
“You. What were you saying?” The Doctor said, turning back to the man.
“But I've got your gun.” the man said,
“Okay, so shoot me. Why can't she answer?” The Doctor said,
“She's er. Can I put this down?” The man said, looking down at the gun.
“If you want. Just hurry up.” The Doctor said, before the man put the gun down,
“Thanks. Sorry. The Controller is linked to the transmissions. The entire output goes through her brain. You're not a member of staff so she doesn't recognise your existence.” The man said,
“What's her name?” the Doctor asked,
“I don't know. She was installed when she was five years old. That's the only life she's ever known.” The man said, as Jack walked back.
“Door's sealed. We should be safe for about ten minutes.” Jack said,
“Keep an eye on them.” The Doctor said,
“But that stuff you were saying about something going on with the Game Station. I think you're right. I've kept a log. Unauthorised transmats, encrypted signals, it's been going on for years.” the man said,
“Show me.” the Doctor said, and the man walked over to a computer as Jack went to a door behind him and tried to open it.
“You're not allowed in there. Archive Six is out of bounds.” A woman said,
“Do I look like an out of bounds sort of guy?” Jack said, holding up his guns, before he turned back to the door and went inside to find the Tardis. which he entered and walked to the console.
“What the hell?” Jack said, as he looked at the scanner.
“ Solar flare activity in delta point zero fifteen.” the controller said,
“If you're not holding us hostage, then open the door and let us out. The staff are terrified.” A woman said,
“That's the same staff who execute hundreds of contestants every day.” The Doctor said,
“That's not our fault. We're just doing our jobs.” A woman said,
“And with that sentence you just lost the right to even talk to me. Now back off!” the Doctor said, as he looked down at the screen. the power dropping everything turning off.
“That's just the solar flares. They interfere with the broadcast signal, so this place automatically powers down. Planet Earth gets a few repeats. It's all quite normal.” the man said,
“Doctor.” the controller said,
“Doctor?” The woman said,
“Whatever it is, you can wait.” the Doctor said,
“I think she wants you.” the woman said looking a the controller.  Causing the Doctor to turn around and look at her.
“Doctor? Doctor? Where's the Doctor?” the controller said before the Doctor walked over to her. “I'm here.” the Doctor said,
“Can't see. I'm blind. So blind. All my life, blind. All I can see is numbers, but I saw you.” the controller said,
“What do you want?” the Doctor said,
“Solar flares hiding me. They can't hear me. My masters, they always listen but they can't hear me now the sun, the sun is so bright.”  the controller said,
“Who are your masters?” the Doctor asked,
“They wired my head. The name's forbidden. They control my thoughts. My masters. My masters, I had to be careful. They monitor transmissions but they don't watch the programmes. I could hide you inside the games. Knew that you would find me.” The controller said, and the Doctor clenched his hand.
“My friend died inside your games.” he said,
“Doesn't matter.” The controller said,
“Don't you dare tell me that.” The Doctor hissed out. Alyssa had just died, the last time lady. and he felt his hearts constrict as he thought of never seeing her again.
“They've been hiding. My masters hiding in the dark space, watching and shaping the Earth so, so, so many years. Always been there, guiding humanity, hundreds and hundred of years.” the controller said,
“Who are they?” the doctor asked again,
“They wait and plan and grow in numbers. They're strong now. So strong, my masters.” The controller said,
“Who are they?” The Doctor said,
“But speak of you, my masters, they fear the Doctor.” The controller said, and the Doctor walked forward a step
“Tell me, who are they?” The Doctor asked once more, before the power went back on and the controller started counting again.
“When's the next solar flare?” The Doctor asked, turning back to the others.
“Two years time.” the man said,
“Fat lot of good that is.” the Doctor said, before Jack entered the room,
“Found the Tardis.” Jack said,
“We’re not leaving now.” The Doctor said,
“No, but the Tardis worked it out. You'll want to watch this. Lynda, could you stand over there for me please?” Jack said, the Doctor said turning around and looking at him,
“I just want to go home.” Lynda said,
“It'll only take a second. Could you stand in that spot, quick as you can.” Jack said, and Lynda went and did he what he asked, “Everybody watching? Okay. three, two, one.” Jack said, before he clicked a button and a ray came down and Lynda disappeared,
“But you killed her!” Rose yelled.
“Oh, do you think?” Jack said, before he clicked another button and Lynda reappeared next to the Doctor.
“What the hell was that?” Lynda asked,
“It's a transmat beam. Not a disintegrator, a secondary transmat system. People don't get killed in the games.” Jack started before he started forward towards the Doctor and Rose, “they get transported across space. Doctor, Alyssa is still alive!” Jack finished and the Doctor let out a laugh before he hugged him Rose joining in.
Alyssa woke up in a different room on a space ship, and put her hand to to her head, as she looked around, before her eyes fell on a dalek rolling towards her. she quickly got up and backed up as she stared at it. and ran into the wall. she stared at the Dalek in fear.
The Doctor was typing on the computer trying to find exactly where Alyssa was. “She's out there somewhere.” the Doctor said,
“Doctor. Coordinates five point six point one” The Controller said,
“Don’t, the solar flare's gone. They'll hear you.” the Doctor said,
“Point four three four. No, my masters, no! I defy you! Stigma seven seven” The controller said, before she disappeared,
“They took her.” the Doctor said, before he got up and let Jack work on the computer.
“Look, use that. It might contain the final numbers. I kept a log of all the unscheduled transmissions.” the man said, trying to help Jack.
“Nice, Thanks. Captain Jack Harkness, by the way.” Jack said,
“I'm Davitch Pavale.” Davitch said,
“Nice to meet you, Davitch Pavale.” Jack said,
“There's a time and a place.” the Doctor said,
“Are you saying this entire set up's been a disguise all along?” The woman said,
“Going way back. Installing the Jagrafess a hundred years ago. Someone's been playing a long game, controlling the human race from behind the scenes for generations.” The Doctor said,
“Click on this.” Jack said holding up a button to the Doctor, him doing what he asked, a part of space appearing holographic.  “The transmat delivers to that point, right on the edge of the solar system.” Jack said,
“There's nothing there.” The woman said,
“It looks like nothing because that's what this satellite does. Underneath the transmission there's another signal.” the Doctor said,
“Doing what?” Davitch said,
“Hiding whatever's out there. Hiding it from sonar, radar, scanner. There's something sitting right on top of planet Earth, but it's completely invisible. If I cancel the signal”  the Doctor said, before he typed something on the keyboard. and a very large ship appeared, the Doctor’s face draining of color as he knew exactly what ships they were. And Alyssa was directly at the heart of them. if they hadn’t killed her already or figured out who she was, they certainly would.
“That's impossible. I know those ships. They were destroyed.” Jack said,
“Obviously, they survived.”  The Doctor muttered,
“Who did? Who are they?” Lynda asked,
“Doctor, who are they?” Rose asked,
“Two hundred ships. More than two thousand on board each one. That's just about half a million of them.” The Doctor said,
“Half a million what?” Davitch said,
“Daleks.” The Doctor said,
Alyssa sat at the wall she was backed into as another Dalek rolled in,
“Alert. Alert. We are detected.” the Dalek said,
“It is the Doctor. He has located us. Open communications channel.” another dalek said,
“The female will stand. Stand!” A Dalek said and Alyssa scrambled to her feet. As a video feed opened up,  showing the doctor and his group.
“I will talk to the Doctor.” a Dalek said,
“Oh, will you? That's nice. Hello!” the Doctor said, waving his hand at them. Alyssa staring at the Doctor and glancing at the Dalek behind her,
“The Dalek stratagem nears completion. The fleet is almost ready. You will not intervene.” A dalek said,
“Oh, really? Why's that, then?” The Doctor asked,
“We have your associate. You will obey or she will be exterminated.” A dalek said,
“No.” The Doctor said, and Alyssa did a half smile.
“Explain yourself.” The Dalek said,
“I said, no.” the doctor said again
“What is the meaning of this negative?” the dalek asked,
“It means no.” The Doctor said,
“But she will be destroyed.” The dalek said, and the Doctor stood up,
“No, because this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to rescue her. I'm going to save Alyssa from the middle of the Dalek fleet, and then I'm going to save the Earth, and then, just to finish off, I'm going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky!”
“But you have no weapons, no defences, no plan.” The dalek said,
“Yeah. And doesn't that scare you to death.” the Doctor said, before he looked at Alyssa, “Alyssa?” he finished,
“Yes, Doctor?” Alyssa called out,
“I'm coming to get you.” the Doctor said, before he took out his sonic and pointed it at the screen. shutting off communications.
“The Doctor is initiating hostile action.” a dalek said,
“The stratagem must advance. Begin the invasion of Earth!” another dalek said,
“The Doctor will be exterminated!” a dalek said, before every dalek on the ship started chanting “Exterminate!”
