I knew that I had just said the wrong thing.
"Kiss me." Newt smirked.
My jaw dropped.
"Kiss me." He said again. "I know you want to."
There was no way I would be able to get out of this. I was flat on my back with Newt inches above me, hands on either side of my head. But the truth was, I did want to kiss him.
"Fine." I stated trying to keep my face straight.
I reached up as fast as I could and pulled his face down to mine.

That night at dinner, everyone was staring at me. Whispering to each other as I passed by. I sat next to Newt and began to shove my food down my throat as fast as I could.
"Are you trying to make yourself sick?" He asked through a mouthful of food.
I took another bite and looked at him with a mouth filled with food, "no," I answered promptly and went back to eating.
Something big was going to happen soon, and the last thing I wanted was to be extremely hungry while that big thing happened.
I finished my dinner and headed towards Homestead. The whole house was completely empty when I got there, everyone was either eating or finishing up their work for the day. I had on destination in mind: the balcony on the third floor. It was off limits to everyone but Alby and Newt, but the whole Glade was in the kitchens eating their dinner. And who cares if I got caught. What could they do to me? Especially at a messed up time like this.
The door that concealed the balcony was, strangely, unlocked. It pushed open easily to reveal the empty balcony that overlooked the entire Glade.
Everything in the Glade was in its normal, peaceful, state, as it always was when the entire Glade went to eat. One thing was obviously different from the times I had come up here before, that one thing was the fact that the doors to the maze were closed.
With the maze practically gone, the Glade was left in an eerie quiet every night. In a way it was scary, but it was also peaceful.
I sighed and sat down on the edge of the balcony, letting my legs dangle over the edge. My head leaned against the railing as I gazed at the sun setting over the woods. Before I knew it, my eyes began to close.

I sat up with a start, hitting my head in the process. My eyes sprang open, staring straight into the darkness of night. They eventually adjusted and I found myself sitting on the edge of a balcony three stories in the air, legs dangling over the edge.
"What do you think you're doing up here?" My head whipped around to find the source of the voice. "You're not allowed up here!"
"Do you think I care?" I growled at the person behind me as I searched through the darkness for a body to go with the voice. "And who would come up here in the middle of the night?"
"Only the people who know that when you hide, you tend to find the highest place in the shucking Glade to escape."
At that moment, I knew who was standing behind me. It was the person that I wanted to run from the most and be around the most at the same time.
