20. The Island

Izuku's pov

"Oh. MY. GOD!" I exclaimed as I stared at the marvellous technological Island. The massive pavilion was crawling with labcoats and a few heroes mixed in. It was magnificent. I turned to Garchan meeting his expression of wonder "Do you regret not allowing me put on those rockets?" He asked "You had no plans to build a gyroscope! That would've planted me in the ground like a cherry blossom" I replied "Not to be rude but how are you talking?" David Shield asked "Magic!" I exclaimed, "Did you not see our project?" Garchan asked "I don't see how that's relevant but, no I didn't, only Pym looks at the projects" Shield replied 

"Can you three stop being nerds?! God your so Irritating" Kacchan grumbled "Hey your the kid from the sports festival" David Shield noticed. He smiled at him "You're a great hero in the making" He acknowledged while patting Kacchan's back. Kacchan stood frozen, in shock. David Shield is one of the only people on this island that Kacchan might know so being recognised by him is probably crazy. "Anyway, I'll take you guys to your hotel room. You'll have an escort pick you up there at about five-thirty, your free to explore to Island till then" Shield explained while leading us towards the centre of the Island

Once we reached the hotel, David Shield left and we explored our rooms. Me and Garchan were given our own room and our escorts were together "So are we gonna sneak out?" Garchan asked while laying on his bed "Yeah, let's just hop out the window" I suggested sarcastically. Clearly, my sarcasm was lost on him because he headed towards the window with vigour "DEKU!" Kacchan yelled while barging into the room. He stopped and stood silent as he stared at the scene, Garchan trying to jump out a window and me grabbing onto him tightly "We-... We're- were going to check out the pavilion" He muttered while backing out of the room.

Me and Garchan looked at each other for a second before bursting out laughing. "Okay, let's not jump out the window" I suggested. Garchan nodded and walked away from the window "Are you gonna use your legs?" he asked "No, I'm gonna let those four realise when we go up on the podium" I explained with a small laugh. "Alrighty, let's a-go!" Garchan said while doing a  Mario jump. Our mini menagerie made our way around the island, stopping by a few displays and stores looking through each of them. We never bought anything but I had a great time. It was one of the first times that all my friends hung out together, I hope we continue this and Kacchan doesn't murder Shinso or garchan.

A few hours later, we all returned to the hotel. We all sat in the Bakusquad + Shinso room, we were playing MarioKart 8 on Kaminari's switch. He was adamant about being the greatest. That didn't last very long when he got beaten by yours truly. It's quite bad if you lose to someone using tilt controls and auto drive. I hadn't put on my cybernetics nor did I try to finagle my hand around the joycon to play the game normally. "Oh come on!" Kaminari yelled after I passed him in our fifth race "Shut up Pikachu, I'm trying to concentrate" "On what 'Suka? Losing?" Garchan jeered. The two almost came to blows but a knock on the door stopped them.

Kacchan stood up and opened the door, revealing a... Fox person? It had muted dark blue fur with stuttery, almost robotic movements. Suddenly, I realised, they weren't robotic-like movements, they were robotic movements because it was a robot. The term animatronic is more accurate since it's clearly not sentient nor free thinking. "Mr E, Is here to welcome you!" The bot said while unfurling a small red carpet into the room. All six of us stood still as a weird man cartwheeled into the room.

"Where be the young lads?" He asked in a pirate accent. All six of us stood silent. I looked over at Garchan, silently asking if he knew who the heck this man was. He shook his head and rolled his finger beside his ear "Well me laddies, let's get move on! The booty awaits!" The eccentric man yelled while turning around... Inventors' madness is common enough on I-island but this is ridiculous. "I apologise on his behalf," Another man said while entering the room. Wait... THAT'S THE SAME GUY?! "Yeah... my assistant got the personality cores mixed up. The fox is meant to be a pirate, the guy is just a guy" He explained through his smooth British accent

"What in the ever-loving fuck?" Kacchan asked with his fingers pressed against his nose "Hey, your a hero student, you wouldn't understand the complexities of humanoid robotics!" The man complained. He quickly scanned the room before reaching me and Garchan. "The ceremony begins soon, you have ten minutes to get ready... Oh yeah, almost forgot, wear a suit, this is gonna be televised so everyone has to look their best" He added. I didn't bother asking questions, I just wheeled myself past the may and his two bi-pods towards Garchan and I's room  

"Hey, Kusu?" Garchan asked as he walked in behind me "Yeah?" I replied while looking at his concerned face. "Do you have the helmet?" He questioned "Of course, it's been on my ear most of the day" I replied while turning to show the device "Yeah just... Keep it close, I have a weird feeling about the ceremony" He explained with a worried tremble. "Hey, nothing bad is gonna happen. Even if it does, I think I know what Kacchan would do to someone who attacked us" I replied "Us?" Garchan raised his eyebrow "Your my best friend if you get hurt, I'll feel like shit so Kacchan will prevent that" I explained. "I just hope your right"
