— Chapter 10

Felix froze. His spoon now in the air. He stared at his food like if it was the most interesting thing in the whole world. Nicole panicked at his reaction and quickly apologized.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it up!"

"I-It's fine you just......... uhm you just caught me off guard." She sighed in relief and kept eating. Felix finally put the spoon back in his mouth and stared up at Nicole.

She was chewing some of her noodles while looking out the deserted streets. She had a calm look in her face while looking around. He studied her whole face. He noticed how her eyes were a deep black. How her hair was long and how it took some waves in some parts. He also loved how her hair was jet black.

He took notice of her clothes. Tonight's she looked not so edgy but you could still take notice in some of her pieces that it was her style. She had a black 'rolling stones' crew neck with black sweatpants that had skulled butterflies on the sides.

He enjoyed how she would always have something new and different on every time he saw her. Though it was different the style was the same. She had told him that she doesn't have to be depressed to have an edgy-gothic look. She said that some of the people who wear things like that is because they express themselves with the outfit or the style.

He then took notice how her cheeks turned a crimson red. He cocked an eyebrow and swallowed his food. She softly turned to him and now he saw how her whole face was a crimson red.

"U-uhm, did I uhh have something on my face..?" Now it was Felix's turn to become a red mess. He looked down but didn't answer right away. "Sorry, uhm no you didn't have anything" he lowered his voice the more words he said.

After an hour of walking, talking, crying and eating they decided it was time to head home. It was the middle of the night after all. They threw away the food garbage and walked to Nicole's house. "What are you studying?" "I don't go to college anymore, I dropped out." She made a surprised face but she then realized that maybe he did that because of what happened to the girl Felix cried over earlier.

"Well I want to study in nursing for children. I've always liked that" Felix smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Well good luck with that, I heard it takes years to graduate and a lot of math is involved"

"I guess it's a good thing math is my favorite subject" Felix coughed and looked at her "you like math?!" She nodded and laughed "I have a thing for numbers" "damn..." they laughed a little talking about their favorite subjects and school related things.

They finally made it to the youngest's house. They went to her window and Felix helped her climb up. "Are you sure you don't want to stay? It's really dark out there.." "it's ok, I'll be fine don't worry" she hesitated but nodded "ok.. good night Lix" "night"

He left and she closed the window.

But they stayed in each other's mind. Anticipating on their next midnight meeting..

Next day~

As Nicole got up from her bed she noticed something out of place. Her door. It was wide open. If she remembers clearly, she had closed her door shut before she sneaked out last night.

She sleepily rubs her eyes and walks to the door. Then once she got there she heard her bathroom door open. And there was her dad. Dirty clothes in hand and a towel on his shoulder. He was wearing his work clothes.

"Don't you have a bathroom in your room dad?"

"I do. But the water is cold so I'm gonna start showering in yours because the water's warm"
