There were red, orange and blue butterflies everywhere. Even if none of them said anything, Maribel knew "Alright, let's all please calm down. Take deep breaths and let's sit down" she said. They all did and the families butterflies turned yellow "That's better" Pedro dragged all of them to the dining tables chairs.
"Say this for me please Mirabel, to break the silence" Maribel sighed "Everyone, I have a message" they all looked at her "He says that even though Luisa wasn't born here, she is part of this family. That's why she was blessed with the magic of the candle. I have watched everyone, adults included, grow up here. It's like I've raised them alongside Alma all their lives. Luisa is an important part of this house as is everyone else. Not because of her strength but because of who she is. A beautiful, kind and cheerful young lady. So you can't just come here and they you're her parents. If you plan on taking her away, you go through me" she said, they heard the door shut.
Everyone was shocked "Whoa whoa whoa, slow down. First, that was never our plan and second, it's her call" Maui said
"Don't blame me, he's the one who said all that, I'm just the messenger" Mirabel said
"And who is he?" Moana asked
"The spirit of the house, the reason it came to life" Mirabel said
"Pedro is his name, my husbands spirits" Alma said
Everyone was stunned, mostly the Madrigals "I can't believe she said it" both Pedro and Mirabel whispered in unison
Julieta was the most stunned "Papá?" She asked, Alma nodded smiling
"Can we focus on one thing at a time please?" Isabella said "We'll deal with this new revelation later. The important thing now is Luisa and why these people left her" she was getting irritated
"Alright, I'll start" Maui said "We had been on the run for over 6,000"
"How many?? 6,000??" Agustin asked surprised
"Yeah I'm a demigod so I'm inmortal. I met Moana when she was 15 years old. And what a meeting, she was mean. She has a difficult attitude" he said
"Maui!!" Moana scolded
"Ok ok, When she got older, I fell in love and as soon as she could we got married and she earned immortality because of all the good she did" Maui explained, everyone seemed to understand
"Since Luisa came from both of us. When she turns 21 she will stay that way. She inherited the immortal gene from us" Moana explained
"Back to the point" Julieta said
"We we're on the run because we were the only ones left of my people. We had our powers and as the world progressed, they were scared of us" Maui said
"We had no choice, we had to protect Te Fiti, our home and the goddess of the lands. When I was pregnant we had to run from Motonui (however it's spelled). That was my original home and where I gave birth to her" Moana continued
"Soldiers found us and they were gonna harm you. We separated and ran in different directions. I carried her far from the Polynesian islands where Moana gave birth. That's when I brought her here, it was the first place in sight that seemed secure" Maui said
"You left to protect her" Mirabel said "Just like tío Bruno did for me"
"I know it's Luisa's choice but I would like to teach her how to use her powers. We can take her to Te Fiti so she has space and time to control it" Moana said
"I don't know, Luisa is a very sensitive girl underneath all her muscle" Julieta
"Besides, you can't just say you can take her. She has to make that decision herself" Agustin said
"Can I talk to her?" Moana asked, they all looked at Alma and she nodded
"Let's see where she is" Maribel said then a butterfly sphere appeared at the center of the table. The image showed the river outside Encanto. Luisa and Natalia embracing each other, Luisa was crying "She's with Natalia at the river"
"Girlfriend?" Maui asked
"Yep" Maribel and Isabella said in unison like it was nothing
"What??!!" Julieta, Agustín and Alma exclaimed
Both girls giggled "It's great that she has someone to love" Moana said
"But... a girl?" Alma said
"That doesn't matter, what matters is Luisa" Pedro said being repeated by Mirabel
"He's right" Abuela said, the young woman's eyes sparkled at that response "you can go up the river through here" she said to Moana, Maui agreed and before they knew it she climbed the waters and Maui transformed into the hawk again flying off.
"Now can we talk about what you said about papá?" Julieta asked "Is it true? Casita is him, all this time?"
"Si, now before you argue with me let me tell you that I didn't know this until last night. He talks to Mirabel because of her gift and that's how I knew" Alma said
"How?" Juliette asked once again
After Mirabel told the whole story, her mother and grandmother were in tears "This is incredible, all my life I've been wanting to make him proud along with the family" Isabella began
"He's always been proud of you sis" Mirabel told her earning a smile
"Mariposa, can you tell Isabella to grow some flowers for each of you" Pedro asked, it made her blush but she whispered it to Isabella.
Different bouquets of flowers dropped in the hands of the women "From abuelo" Isa said smiling.
They all did the same, Julieta went to the window and touched it "Gracias papá"
"We must tell the rest of the family, about Pedro and about what's going on with Luisa" Alma said
"Alright" Agustin and Julieta agreed
Meanwhile, at the river, Natalie was trying to make jokes to calm Luisa down. In that moment, the River glowed and moved. Moana approached being carried by the water. Maui landed behind them startling them.
"I'm sorry if we scared you" he said transforming back into a man
Luisa could only look down, she was too angry to face them "Can we please talk?" Moana asked, Luisa still didn't look up
"Amor, talk to them, it will help you clear your head and answer all your questions" Natalia told her "You've always wanted to know what your purpose is and this is your chance"
Luisa looked at her with tears in her eyes but with a smile on her face. She slowly nodded and Natalia kissed her on the forehead before standing up and leaving. Maui and Moana kneeled in front of Luisa, waiting for a response.
"Fine, let's talk" she said serious and frowning
