Markus's POV
I took a deep breath as I looked down at my phone. Vin had given me his number and told me he'd call me when he got home from work; I still hadn't gotten a phone call. I was sitting in our- my room on my bed. I wasn't used to having my own room. I've slept in Gabby and Felix's room for the past two weeks and this is the first time I've really spent any time at all in this room since...
I sighed and looked up at the ceiling. Was I moving on too fast? Does my having a crush on this boy mean my feelings for Jameson were untrue? Did I not love him like I'd thought I did? How could I do this to Jameson? By liking this boy I was throwing away everything Jameson and I had!
But, you never really had anything.
But you still loved each other!
Jameson never made it official. Plus he was dating Benjamin the whole time.
He only did what he thought was right, what was best for the both of you.
No! He only did what was right for Jameson, what was best for Jameson.
He thought it'd be best for both of you.
He obviously didn't care; he only wanted what he wanted.
The knock on my door pulled me out of my internal distress, "Hello?" I asked.
"Markus? Dinner is ready. Are you going to come eat?" Skie's small voice said from behind the door.
I blinked and opened the door, "Yeah, I'll be right up," I told her with a smile.
She smiled back, "How are you, Markus?" she asked.
"I'm fine," I said, not entirely sure if that was a lie or if it was the truth.
She looked at me skeptically, "Are you sure?" she asked.
"Am I moving on too fast? By liking Vin am I throwing away everything that Jameson and I had? Am I saying that my feelings for him weren't true?" I asked.
She took my hands and led me to my bed, "If there's one person in the world I know better than my sister, it was Jameson. I know you're afraid people will think you moved on too soon, but I know it's what Jameson would want. He wouldn't want you to hold onto him and never love again. He'd want you to be happy. I bet you, he's watching you thinking, look at that hunk of man I got to enjoy. He'd be thinking, I love that he still loves me, but he's not afraid to move on and be happy again. Don't worry about what other people think, it's your life, it's your happiness. No one expects you to hold onto your dead first love," she told me.
"He'll always have a place in my heart, I'll always love him," I told her.
"That's all anyone can ask. Now, come on, let's go eat," she said and dragged me upstairs.
Three hours after Skie and I had talked I'd gotten a text message from Vin; asking me on a date this Tuesday, which was today!
Gabby was in my room helping me get ready. I had no clue where he was taking me, but she did. I was currently trying to get it out of her.
"C'mon, Gabby! Just tell me where we're going," I whined.
She giggled, "Sorry, baby, no can do. I promised, and I never break a promise. Stop worrying, you'll love it!" she said with a huge grin on her face.
"You enjoy torturing me, don't you?" I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
She grinned cheekily, "Nope," she said, popping the p, "Just Felix," she winked.
"Ew!" I exclaimed, slapping her arm lightly, "You are disgusting!"
She chuckled, "You know you love it," she sang.
