You woke to the soft uncomfortable feeling of your arms being chilled by the cool air of your room. Nonchanically, you pulled your arms back under the covers and snuggled up to your husband who was sleeping soundly beside you. He woke, gently peeking through his eyes to see you snuggled up against him. With a soft smile, he wrapped his arms around your frame and pulled you closer, while resting his chin on the top of your head and closing his eyes shut.

"I know you're awake." Mark hummed, lightly carding his fingers through your hair. A smile appeared slowly on your face as you tangled your feet with his underneath the heavy comforter.

"You caught me." you laughed softly. Mark moved underneath you and reached over to click the button for the curtains. The curtains pulled back at the push of the button, revealing a shocking surprise.

"Look." Mark smiled, pointing to the beautiful French window as he sat up leaning against the head board. You gasped sitting up with a joyful smile.

"Snow!" you cheered. You began to ramble about the snow going on and on about it, but Mark wasn't listening. His eyes were glued on you. His wife, his best friend and the girl that he had fallen in love so deeply with.

"You're rambling," he laughed lightly, pulling you into him and pressing a tender kiss to your lips. Your heart fluttered at the feeling of his arms wrapped around you as you snuggled under the blankets. It felt like an amazing dream.

"Come on," you smiled, pulling away from the kiss. "I have to make Christmas cookies for your parents party tonight."

Mark raised his eyebrows and snickered. "Y/n. It's eight thirty in the morning. It is way too early to be making cookies."

"How do you know if you've never tried?" you challenged. Mark followed you anyway, without another word of complaint.

The batter had been mixed and some freshly baked cookies had just been pulled out of the oven and we're being pulled off the cooking sheet and onto a cookie rack to cool. You glanced at Mark who had been put in charge of mixing in some chocolate chips into the batter.

The risk of granting him the importance of the oven or anything that involved heat, scared you and that's when you decided to give him the easy job of stirring. He was focused too. Very focused.

After you had finished transferring the cookies, you walked up behind Mark and sneaked your hands around his waist, resting your head on his shoulder blade. Mark turned around in your embrace and stared into your eyes lovingly.

"What?" you questioned after a moment of him staring at you. Instead of responding, Mark took your left hand and kissed your ring and then kissed your forehead.

He the whispered out the words you had been thinking about since you met Mark.

"I feel like I'm dreaming."
