As part of the latin community let me just say that I loved the movie. I have watched it like 10 times and was inspired. This story takes place at the ending of the movie. Right in the middle of the party when casita was rebuilt.

"You really do" Isabella said placing a rose on Luisa's bun "I'm so proud of you for doing this, Natalia is a lucky girl for having you"
"I'm the lucky one for having two sisters as awesome as you two" Luisa said embracing them both "I better get downstairs, Natalia is gonna be here in 10 minutes"
Quickly they rushed to the front entrance passing the rest of the family. Questioning looks started appearing in their faces "Where are you off to?" Alma asked
"I told mamá yesterday that I was invited by Natalia, the handyman's daughter, to hang out and she said I could go. I finished my chores early as promised so I could go. Abuela, I won't be home late, promise" Luisa rambled
"You certainly cleaned up nice to hang out cousin" Dolores cut in using a suspicious tone
"Dolores butt out, she looks fine" Camilo defended
A knock was heard, this startled Luisa "She's here" Mirabel said "You'll do great" she whispered to her sister
"Hey Natalia!!" Isabella greeted once she opened the door
"Hey Mira" she greeted, her eyes got fixed on Luisa "Hey Luisa, ready to go?" She asked softly, making clear to Mirabel that she was nervous. She could tell by the orange butterfly flying close by. Luisa was also nervous as another orange butterfly flew close to her. Mirabel kept quiet about this of course, she didn't want to ruin her big sisters first date.
"Yeah, bye" Luisa said to the family before running off with the girl
Both girls got to the river, Natalia had prepared a picnic basket. She was getting it out when Luisa reached for it "Let me do it, it's the least I can do after you brought the basket" Natalia smiled by the sweet gesture. Luisa returned the smiled and proceeded to lay the basket on the ground.
"That was really sweet of you Luisa" Natalia said sitting on the blanket
Luisa did the same moments after "It's no problem"
"You know, I wasn't expecting you to say yes to my invitation" Natalia admitted
"Why?" Luisa asked genuinely curious
"You seem always so busy, I didn't think you would even give me the time of day" Natalia said
Luisa sighed "A lot has changed and I'm not gonna be so busy anymore but what hasn't changed is that no matter how busy I am, you would always get my attention" Luisa blushed as she realized what she said then looked away
"I- I don't know what to say" Natalia stuttered
Luisa looked down at her "I like you a lot Nat, as more than a friend" she confessed "I understand if you don't and this is silly"
"Luisa stop" Natalia reached out to her "I like you too, as more than a friend" they smiled at each other and hugged.
Once they parted, Luisa stood up and reached for Natalia. When she did, she pulled her up and guided her to the edge of the river "In this place my family was given the magic of our gifts. I don't know why but I've always felt different from them. Isabella is the oldest but I had always felt I carried a weight I can never explain. After the incident I felt weaker but since I started coming here after that, I feel stronger. I mean, I turned 18 right before the incident so I feel older, wiser and stronger"
"You are strong, not only physically but emotionally too. Your family went through so much and you remained. You deserve to let all of that go. I'm gonna be right by your side when you do" Natalia said, they both smiled and pressed their heads together
"I want to do it now" Luisa said pulling Natalia closer to the edge of the river "I have dipped my fingers into the water before and felt relaxed. I figure if I get my feet in, I might feel even lighter"
"If you say so" Natalia said
Both girls got closer to the water while holding hands. The moment Luisa's foot entered, the water glowed a bright baby blue color. Both eyes went wide in shock when the water started to rise toward them. A little wave formed in front of Luisa.

"What the heck is this?" She questioned, she reached for the wave and when she touched it the water fell and went back to normal.
