Chapter 4: The Palace

Y/N'S POV:
As he mentioned his palace he began describing how each room looked like and how many there were. As he was talking i couldn't help but also notice how much he was rambling on and soon the conversation went from the rooms in his palace to his palace garden. I got to admit him rambling on was cute, he started to describe about how many flowers would grow there every spring and also about sunrises and sunsets that would be on his palace. As we were walking around the village towards his palace I noticed a lot of fairies, trolls, warlocks, and a couple of witches that kept staring at us both but mostly at me. I was getting a bit nervous because of how much attention that was being set on us, "are you okay? You seem a bit nervous" Voltaere said "I kind of am" I said "why?" He asked "look around" I whispered. He looks around us and sees all of the creatures looking at us "is there a problem?" Voltaere asks them, they all shook their head and continued going back to what they were doing. We kept walking forward until we saw a couple trees and soon another gate. The gates opened, as if the gates themselves knew that it was him in front of it. He walks through the gate and I stand there stunned by the beauty of his palace, the palace was very big. The palace was a vintage grey, it had a fountain in front of it and had some bushes at the edge of the house, I looked at the side of the gate doors and noticed some statues, the statues looked like some dark angels possibly fallen angels. As I was looking at the statues he stops and looks behind him then looks at the statues that I was looking at. "The statues that you see behind the gates are my siblings" Voltaere said "you have siblings?" I asked "yes" he answered "what happened to them?" I asked "they were sent on a mission two years ago but they never came back, no one knows if they are even dead or alive. But many assume that they're dead" he said "what's their names?" I asked "the girl is my sister her name is Diana she was loved by everyone in the village also the youngest, and the boy is my brother his name is Zack he's the eldest he was also loved by everyone in the village." He said "do you think you will find them?" I asked "yes, and if not they will find their way back home" he said. He turned around and continued to walk towards the front doors and I followed behind him, he opens the front doors and then does a motion for me to go inside like a gentleman "ladies first" he says I smile at him and go inside. When I got inside I saw a black chandelier on the ceiling, black walls, their was a staircase that was black velvet that had silver rails, in the middle of the room there was a small table with some black and white roses in a black vase, there was paintings on the walls, a hallway and black doors. He closed the doors behind him "this is the main room" he said he walked down the hall way and I followed behind him. He opens the door and we both go inside the room, the room was big it had a fire place, black marble floors, black velvet sofa chairs with silver lining on them, a small round table between them and some bookshelves on one side of the room. "Take a seat" he says as he walks in front of the fireplace I sat down on one of the chairs, he opened some curtains and sat down on the other chair. When he sat down There was a knock at the door "come in" Voltaere said, the door opened and revealed a girl in a maid uniform, she had long dark brown hair with ice blue eyes and looked tall from where you were sitting. She was carrying a stack of books in her arms that looked heavy to her "sorry to bother you mr phantom but you had a new order of books sent to you from the library" she said with a struggling voice. "it's fine you weren't bothering at all. Here, let me help you with that" he said he walked towards her and got some books out of her hands "thank you sir, where would you like me to put these?" She said with a kind smile "you can put those on the shelves here, I'll put these on the shelves in the study. Also can you make sure to keep Y/n company and tell her everything that she would love to know" Voltaere said "of course Mr phantom" she said. After she said that he gave her one last smile and exited the room while closing the door behind him, she made her way to the shelf and started to put the books on the shelf. "Where did you guys meet?" She asks "in a Forrest" I said "a Forrest?" She asks "yeah" I said "I'm surprised because he barely goes out, but whenever he does go out it's always for practice or to have fun with the guards" she said "fun?" I asked "he likes to practice self defense and racing with the guards and it's always in the Forrest" she said "what else does he like doing?" I asked "he likes to read books, and likes to take walks through the garden and sometimes through the village" she said "how big is the garden?" I asked "the garden is huge there is also some paths that lead to beautiful areas around the village, theres even some spots that have a very beautiful view of the village and sunset" she said "I'd have to look at it sometime then" I said. The door opened and Voltaere entered the room "what are you guys talking about?" He said "I was telling her about the garden" she said his gaze goes on me and he gives me a smile "I guess I will be on my way now" she said. She makes her way to the door behind him but stops and whispers something in his ear, he blushes and says "good bye Ally!" She giggles and leaves the room, leaving me and Voltaere in the room alone once again.

Voltaere's POV:
I exited the living room and went to the study room to put the books on the shelf. As I was finished I ended up knocking over something, I picked up what had fallen and flipped it over to see it. It was a picture of my family I couldn't help but let a few tears fall from my eyes. We were all smiling in the photo, the photo was taken a year before my brother and sister went missing and before our mother died. I still wonder what happened to them, I wipe my tears and place the frame on my desk. I got out of my study room and went back into the living room, "what are you guys talking about?" I asked them " I was telling her about the garden" ally said. I looked towards Y/n and smiled at her "I guess I'll be on my way now" ally said. Ally was walking towards the doors but stops and whispers in my ear "you two would make a cute couple" ally said I blushed and responded "goodbye ally!" She left the room with a giggle leaving me and y/n in the room alone once again. I walked over to the chair across from her and sat down on it "you guys seem like great friends" she said "yeah, we are but more like siblings" I said "what did she whisper in your ear?" She asked me "uh..just that she thinks we would be cute....together" I said blushing. She looks at the floor with blush on her face, her cheeks are as pink as mine are at the moment. It was a few moments of silence until I clear my throat "would you like some tea?" I asked her "yes please" she said "I'll be right back" I said. I left the room and went to the kitchen and prepared some tea, i pour it in a teapot, and grabbed some tea cups, I put it on a trey along with a cup of sugar cubes, I grab the trey and carefully made my way down the hallway and went to the living room. I went in and sat the trey on the small round table that was between the chairs, I poured the tea in the tea cups "would you like sugar cubes?" I asked her "yes please" she said "how many would you like?" I asked "two cubes please" she said. I poured in two cubes of sugar and handed her her cup "thank you" she said "your welcome darling" I said. She blushes while drinking her tea and I drink my tea as well. It was a few seconds of silence until I decided to say something "so darling tell me something about yourself" I said she puts her cup down "Okay" she says before she takes one last sip "I like to read books on my free time" she said "what kind of books?" I asked "I like to read old romance stories" she said. "Lucky for you I have some books around romance in my library" I told her "how many?" She asked "three huge shelves" I said she looked at me in shock "can I see the library?" She asked. "Of course" I said before putting my tea cup on the table and lending a hand out to her, she puts her cup down on the table and takes my hand. We walked out the living room door and down the hallway even more until we went up a flight of stairs. I stopped at the doors "close your eyes" I said she closed her eyes. I opened the doors and I lead her inside, once she was in I closed the doors behind us and turned on some lights. "You can open them now" I said she opens them and had amazement written on her face "wow this is a huge beautiful library" she said I smile "want to see the romance books?" I asked "yes" she said happily. I walked her to the back of the library and pointed out the shelves of the books. She takes out some books and went towards some chairs as i followed her. "Want to read some together?" She asked me with a smile "sure" I replied with a smile. She opened the book and began reading. -TIME SKIP: 1 HOUR LATER- we had finished reading the first book and I couldn't help but look at her with a smile. We had only met today and I already feel attached to her, she's a really nice beautiful person. She's someone who I'd love to be around all the time. I was snapped out of my thoughts when she asked me something "want to read another book?" She asked "sure" I said. She smiles and takes another book from the stack she got and began reading. It been a few minutes and I couldn't stop thinking if I wanted to ask her out on a date. "She would probably say no, what if she doesn't want to, what if I end up making things awkward?" I said in my head "um Voltaere, are you alright?" Y/n asked "yes I'm fine just thinking" I said "okay" she said "Um hey y/n?" I asked her "yes Voltaere?" She says "would you like to...go on a date with me?" I asked her. She was quiet for three seconds which made me worried but then she said "I'd love too!" She said with a gentle smile. I smiled too "great, want to get ready for our date then darling?" I asked her getting up and holding out a hand to her, "okay" she said closing the book and grabbing my hand gently. She put the book on the stack that was sitting on the table and we made our way into the hallway, I opened the door while holding her hand and to our surprise we saw ally right outside the door. "Ally?" I asked surprised "I wasn't eavesdropping I swear!" She said "okay?, anyways can you please get y/n an outfit to wear tonight?" I asked her "yes mr phantom" ally says "thank you, Y/n I'll see you later tonight in the garden" I said "okay" she said. Ally then grabs her arm and rushes her to the dressing room out of excitement.

Authors note: this chapter has 2,161 words. I'm sorry for disappearing for a long time. but the next chapter will be released on Valentine's Day and tomorrow's my birthday. But I also hope you enjoy this chapter because it took me a long time just to write this chapter. I hope you have a good day!
