The room you find yourself waking up in is probably the nicest room you've ever been in. At least you would think so, if you could actually remember the other rooms you've been in. The walls are painted a soft, dark green, a beautiful contrast from the bright, strange world that you were in. The sheets of the bed were soft and fluffy, a beautiful dark blue, the bedframe a popping white. The room was well decorated, and white seemed to be the most popping accent of all the décor. A few changes of clothes take residence in the closet, although none are quite perfect for your strange, alien anatomy.
After rifling through them time and time again, trying to find anything you could change into besides a cloak (and you were not about to wear nothing but a cloak today), you resign to defeat and go upstairs to look for Trilosophus.
"N/N, nice to see you. Are you hungry?" He says, those voids of eyes, unblinking and desolate, staring at you from where he sits reading at the tiny table. You feel yourself blush, noticing his warmth and his gaze.
"Yes, Trilo, I am. I suppose I shall make myself something to eat, it's high time I get used to this technology if I am to stay here much longer." You say, brushing your hands on your pants (you are wearing pants. I don't make the rules.) and moving to the kitchen.
"I don't think that'll be quite necessary, dearest N/N." Trilo says, looking down to his book once more.
"Whatever do you mean?" You feel your breath stop for a minute.
"N/N, I've contacted an... associate of mine, so to speak. They think they might know a way to get you back from where you came, although not a definite method has been discovered quite yet, they are confident this may work for you." He speaks softly, his gaze slowly returning back to yours.
You stand in shock.
"Trilo, I-- I'm not sure how I feel of that decision. I will agree to see this associate of yours, but I cannot assure you I wish to go home quite yet. After all, who would want to leave this place?" You throw open your arms, looking around the room.
Trilosophus chuckles, "Well, N/N, I think you'll find in due time this place is not as pristine as it first seems." He closes his book, moving to get up out of his chair. "But despite that, if you wish to stay, you may. I rather enjoy having a companion, a life of having a home in solitude has treated me well but your company this past day was quite nice."
His plasticky eyes catch the light filtering in from the window as he meets your eyes, and a moment of silence ensues. Alas, that's quickly broken as he speaks again.
"Alright, now, about breakfast." He clutches his hands, looking around the kitchen. "Well, how would you feel about hunting?"
Your eyes widen. Something in you wants to, but something else doesn't wish to harm any creature in this new land. And part of you is too hungry to hunt for a long while.
"I think I'll scavenge for breakfast, but perhaps another time?" You say, shooting Trilo a slightly guilty smile.
Trilo only nods. "So be it. Well, I am off then." He walks out the door without another word.
Did they get mad at that? You think, as you look around the kitchen for something to eat. Not before long you find it: a strange food that smells good enough to eat.
After breakfast, you look around the cottage. You find a book that looks interesting enough, and settle into Trilosophus's usual reading chair. It's pricklier than you expect, but not bad. It smells dusty, like Trilo. Synthetic and fake, it's reminiscent of something you miss, but you can't put your finger on it.
