58. Bombs Away

"Jack is fighting in Snowchester" Nightmare says. "He's not here"

Dream nods.

"Ready?"

They both dive towards the large house and land on the roof.

"Should we loot first?" Dream asks eyeing the storage houses.

"Why not?"

Dream barges into a house and steals the diamonds, emeralds, gold, and netherite.

"Hey look what I found" Nightmare shows Dream a house full of explosives. He smiles.

After laying TNT all over, they fill the main house and storage houses full as well.

"Ready to test it?" She asks.

"If this works, we can win the war" Dream smirks.

They both take off, flying at a high enough altitude before holding a flint and steel in one hand, TNT in the other.

They pull into a dive and light explosives, dropping them every few feet.

The hiss of the sparks send them flying back up.

"Oh, my god" Dream gasps at the TNT as it goes off, not too far below them.

"It worked!" Nightmare does a delighted flip in the sky.

"That means we can bomb anything we want in this war" Dream's green eyes glint. "Even if it's not too destructive, it will still be unexpected"

"Yes, we can win this war"

They both stare at the smoking crater.

"We should get our allies back" Nightmare says finally.

"You go," Dream turns himself east. "I need to take care of something"

"Okay, when should I flip the stasis chamber?"

"Dawn tomorrow" he turns and flies away, towards the prison.

Sapnap slashes at Tommy. The mask actually doesn't obstruct his vision much when fighting.

"Fuck" Tommy swears under his breath.

Quackity runs away from Punz and Puffy finds him.

They fight for a while until she manages to hit his arm with her sword, causing a deep gash.

Quackity staggers away, blood dripping.

Tommy continues to fight with Sapnap until his sword comes down towards Sapnap's face.

Sapnap moves back the sword cuts through the mask, cracking it in half.

The two halves fall to the ground.

"What?" Tommy moves back, confusion written all over his face.

"Well there goes that" Sapnap smirks and nods towards Puffy signaling to take off her mask too.

She does so and the shock and confusion on the Resistance's faces changes to realization.

"Wait, if Dream and Nightmare aren't here, where are they?" Quackity's eyes dart around the battlefield.

George laughs.

"I guess you'll have to find out"

The fighting resumes while Nightmare returns to the base. She takes off the elytra and stashes it carefully away in her enderchest. She makes sure to not hit Dream's stasis chamber.

The trapdoors flip, one by one.

Karl suddenly disappears off the field and the fighting stops.

"Bye Tommy," Eret salutes before vanishing too.

As the army begins to disappear, the Resistance charges forward but by the time they reach Sapnap, he smiles before vanishing too.

The allies cheer as the return to the meeting room.

"Where's Dream?" Bad asks.

"He had something to do" Nightmare says.

"What was the point of that?" Tubbo asks. "Nightmare and Dream weren't even here, was it just to scare us?"

Quackity shakes his head and points in the direction of New Manifold Land. A column of thick, black smoke rises into the air.

"A distraction"

Dream flies back to the prison, careful to put away his wings and digs underneath to find his secret place.

Sam sits there, weak and starved.

"Dream!" Sam's eyes full with relief. "I'm going to die, please give me food"

"Relax, it's only been a few days"

"How many?"

Dream shrugs.

"Lost count"

"Please" Sam's eyes showing nothing but desperation.

"Fine, fine"

Dream gives Sam a few potatoes.

He pulls a chair over and sits in front of his former warden.

"Let's have a talk"

I love seeing his character develop so much and Dream's as well!

Now Dream and Nigtmare are basically bomber jets lmao, what could they possibly do now? Is there anything that can stop Dream?
