Xiii. The Pull of the Darkness

"I'm happy that you like it because I've got many looks about it over the years that's why I mostly keep them covered up now -- Will and Elizabeth know about a few but Killian doesn't as I didn't want him to find out about the pirate brand and have to tell him the whole story about Beckett and everything "

"That seems fair" Erica nods her head, and strokes Jaclyn's jaw, a question struck her mind and she narrows her eyes at Jaclyn  "But why didn't you tell Killian about some other stories about you?" 

"Because when I met Killian he was down on his luck, he didn't have much to look forward to. So I became it, became his friend who was flirty and didn't really give a damn and Killian is nice believe me and is one of the best people I know but he was so wrapped up in his grief and later revenge that he didn't notice that I was hurting and most of what I told him about my past was made up"

"I'm sorry"

"You don't have to be sorry"

"You should have it anyway because I bet not a lot of people have told you that in your life"

"That's true" Jaclyn hummed and kissed Erica's hand making her feel flushed and hot all over, and Jaclyn chuckled as Erica rolled onto her back, mindlessly staring off into space as she grasps at Jaclyn's hand, scared if she let go, this glowing feeling in her chest would be gone 

"God, I need to cool down or you know just hide in here forever"

"Want to bathe?"

"I could do with a bath" Erica tried to remember the last time she had a bath and she couldn't so she reached out to Jaclyn's hand and twisted her fingers around her girlfriend's hand  "Take one with me. I don't want to be alone"

"Of course, if that's what you"

"You're so sweet"

Erica and Jaclyn didn't have to be up at any time, because one) they were guests and Rapunzel had told them that they didn't need to do anything they didn't want to do and two) they had got rid of the maids that were assigned to their room, neither one feeling comfortable with someone waiting on them hand and foot as they had learnt how to take care of themselves 

They move off to the bathroom and fill up the bathtub with the desired temperature out of buckets and pre-boiled water and take off their nightclothes before Erica climbs into the tub, an elated sigh leaving her lips because relief washed over her, she had forgotten what it was like to have a bath with warm water and heavenly scents, she had forgotten what it was like to have some time just to do nothing. To do nothing but take care of yourself and be in the arms of those you loved

 The water was warm and she quickly shifted up so that Jaclyn could get in behind her and then moved back, moulding their bodies together as she rested her head on Jaclyn's shoulder and Jaclyn rested an arm around her stomach and her head on the edge of the bath, the tips of her hair wet 

"Can we stay like this forever?"

"With you by my side. I always have forever"

Erica giggled when Jaclyn kissed the side of her head and she threw her hands up and cupped Jaclyn's head the wet hair sticking to her hands but she didn't care, she just loved the feeling of Jaclyn's body on her own 

Forever that single word struck a chord deep inside of her, what would it be like to live forever? No longer bound by the questions of mortals, having the time and space to do whatever you want, see whatever you want and not age therefore not die

She wasn't exactly sure what it was like for Jaclyn whether there was something that could kill her, it didn't seem like it but then when she was shot she seemed to heal at a normal speed and didn't Jaclyn mention that her immortality had been lifted by then? Erica wasn't sure but she didn't want to push Jaclyn
