Chapter 6: I Choose Edward.

They look brand new!

I immediately wore the clothes and walked downstairs.

My shoulder ached. I am not sure how deep the wound was or maybe i was overreacting but still it hurt.

The living room was empty so i looked around and walked in the kitchen to see everyone already seated around the dinning table.

"Hey come here.."

I stood near the dinning table awkwardly.

"Sit here sweetie."

Harry spoke as he gestured me to sit next to him. And i did.

Edward sat across me and next to him was Jack. While i sat between Teddy and Harry.

We all ate dinner in silence.

"Is the dinner not good?"

Teddy questioned randomly. I went stiff.

"No, your food is the best Teddy!"

Harry and Jack complimented the food while Edward ate silently. I felt awkward so i too spoke.

"It's good."

After dinner we all sat in the living room.

"So, Elina.. now that you are here, can you give us a little background information about yourself?"

I nodded.

"I am an architect and i live alone."

Again it was awkward.

"Ooh architect? Sounds interesting~"

Harry hypes me no matter what.

"What are your skills?"

Edward cut off Harry.

"Huh?"

"You were literally walking out in the middle of a purge. I am sure you can fight or use guns."

"Oh-um..i can use guns but I am not so good.."

I spoke hesitantly.

"Tch. You really are stupid-"

He spoke rudely.

"Edward. Don't."

Teddy interrupted us.

"How many times did you actually stepped out during purge?"

"Ever since i turned 23."

"What? And you can't fight? You can't use the gun well?"

"W-well i am sneaky, no one really noticed me when I used to..go.."

"And what did you actually do during the purge?"

"I used to steal b-but today was going to be my last last purge. I-i was planning to stop.."

Harry and Jack seemed visibly shook.

"Okay. Look if you're to become our teammate then you must acquire some basic skills to protect yourself."

I frowned.

Thought they were gonna protect me.

But anyways.

"Okay."

"Who do you wanna pair up with?Jack or Edward?"

His question caught me off-guard.

"Um Harry?"

Harry chuckled.

"Me and boss have to handle other things. I wish I could pair up with you sweetie."

I sighed and looked at Jack.

Jack seems good.

But he immediately averted his gaze from me, looking elsewhere.

"If Jack's girlfriend sees you and him. She might get mad at him."

Harry whispered.

Oh.. so that means if i choose Jack, it's gonna be real bad for him.

Then we have Edward.

I looked at Edward and found him already staring at me with his usual sharp eyes.

Jack was a saviour for me today. Maybe i should save him too.

"Edward.. i wanna pair up with Edward.."

I didn't even look at him as i spoke.

"Very well. You guys can start practising from tomorrow."

Tomorrow is a bit early. I can't believe i am wasting my Sunday this way.

But i don't have any choice.

"Meet me right here at 5am tomorrow."

Edward spoke and turned around.

"S-so early?"

I stuttered. I hate how i forget speaking like a normal human being in his presence.

"Yes. Two hours in the morning, two hours in the evening."

"Alright."

I can't believe i am doing this. God give me the strength.
