The little girl watched in awe the castle she was going to learn in for the next couple of years.

Everything was so beautiful. The ghosts that had greeted the girl and her soon-to-be peers were all so astonishing, she can't stop smiling at the sight of them floating around. The potraits and the halls and the enchanted stairs made her want to skip around and giggle. The grand hall was by far her favourite so far.The ceilings that they enchanted to look like the night sky and how the stars were so bright and shiny,it made her heart skipped.

She wasn't exactly a muggleborn but magic had always been so fascinating to her.Everytime she sees it,she can't help but be in awe.

Magic is weird. It changes and it can be anything you want it to be.It can have a name and it can be nameless. It can make you feel happy but can also make you feel sad and angry. You can have the best time in your life with magic but you can also live a life of despair because of it.

Magic can help you.It can heal you.It can make you smile and make you feel giddy. It can make you feel powerful and make you feel as if you have the world in the palm of your hands.Magic can give you happiness,if you want it to.

But magic can also hurt you.It can torture you, make you insane. It can make you feel arrogant and make you feel as if you're above everyone else.It can kill you,if you let it get to you.

The girl knew that and it made her fall more in love with magic.

She wants to embrace everything magic is.All the insanity and the happiness magic brings, she wants to have it all.All that is magic, all of what makes magic,All that is magical.

Maybe that was greedy of her but everyone is greedy. It's just that the most greediest one that will catch everyone's attention and Merlin knows she was the most greediest of them all.

More so than the one who shall not be named.

"Philips,Ruby!"

The little girl snaps back to reality as the deputy headmaster called her name out.Grinning excitedly, she walked to the front with so much confidence, you might think she was destined to be in Gryffindor.

But,it turned out she was the most difficult to place.

The hat asked the girl where she wants to be sorted and the girl in return, asked if she were to pick only just one house.

The hat said that she had to choose one because you can either be cunning and ambitious or brave and courageous or smart and intelligent or kind and loyal and once you be one of them, you can't be the other.

The girl didn't like that.

"Why should I choose only one?"she asked him."Why can't I be cunning and ambitious but kind and loyal? Why can't I be brave and courageous but also smart and intelligent? Why can't I be it all?Why can't I choose everything?"

The hat went silent for awhile and the students and teachers waited for it to make a decision, not knowing that it was having an internal war against the child.

"Do you want to be in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff or Slytherin or Ravenclaw, young one?"It asked once more."Choose only one house that you think is best for you."

"But,I want to be in all of them,"She argued."I want to be brave but smart about my decisions.I want to be cunning but still kind towards my soon-to-be peers.I want to be in all the houses. You know I could be in all the houses. Why can't you just let me be in all of them?"

Stubborn as a mule,that one.

It had been a few minutes since the hat had been put on the girl's head.Everyone started to whisper, murmuring between themselves that she was a hatstall.Curiosity filled their eyes as they waited.

"It wants to talk to Professor Dumbledore,"the child suddenly spoke up after being silent for awhile. The deputy headmaster rised an eyebrow at her words and scanned her face for any mischievousness. When she didn't find any,she took the head off the girl and gave it to the headmaster.

It was the first time in Hogwart's history that an event like this had happened.Everyone was thinking the same as they looked at the girl who was still sitting down on the stool, looking as happy as ever with her smile wide.

'Not only is she a hatstall, she can't be sorted!'

If only they knew that it was more than that, that she was more than that.

And they might not know now but they will one day. They'll know that she's going to be an enigma,a force to be reckoned with and they'll see how much of a witch she is and will be.

Because this little girl is greedy and she will settle with nothing more than the best;she wants to be the best.

After a moment with the headmaster, the hat was then placed back on top of the girl's head.A minute passed by and everyone held on to their breath to what the decision will be.

The girl looked around the hall, meeting eyes with many but she stopped when she connected gazes with an unfamiliar chocolate eyed boy at the Gryffindor table.

And she made up her mind right there and then.

"Gryffindor!"it yelled out but noone cheered. It didn't stop the girl though. She grinned and everyone could see the mischievousness in her eyes as she went to the Gryffindor table.

It was only until the headmaster began clapping, the others joined as well. The girl caught the eyes of the man and they shared a twinkle in their eyes as they both sent each other subtle smiles.
