Chapter 2(:

After bringing all my junk in from the car and moving van, I settled down in my brand new bedroom. I was still determined to have a bad attitude about the move, but it was quite a challenge considering my new amazing home. I was startled by a buzz from my jacket's pocket. I pulled out my phone and noticed I had 3 new messages.

The first was from my best friend Nicole.

Kaitlin,

miss you already!:(

Xoxoxo nicki xoxoxo

The second was from my cute lab partner, Danny.

Kaitlin,

It's hard dissecting a frog without you! ;)

Danny

This one made me laugh. I was so close to dating Danny, but of course I had to leave the town I had grown to love.

The last was from my neighbor Stephanie.

Kaitlin:

What am I supposed to do with all this dog shit in front of your house?

Steph

Ugh. I hated my old neighbor. Her parents gave her the job of cleaning our yard for an open house. She, as usual, had a bad attitude about it. I don't know why she hated me so much. I had never done anything wrong or mean to her.

I texted Nicole back first.

Nicki,

Miss you to girl, you don't even know!

<3, Kaitlin

Next I texted Danny.

Danny,

Aww sweet :P miss you bunches!

<3, Kaitlin

I decided I wasn't going to text back my monster neighbor. What else would you do with dog shit? Light it on fire? Put it in a plastic bag and throw it away! This text did make me miss my dog, even though she would be at our new home tomorrow.

My beloved pomeranian Molly had to be transferred another way because she wasn't aloud on my flight. I about had a nervous breakdown in the terminal. I just hope she arrives safe and sound, without a scratch. If she doesn't, all he'll would break lose and airport security would have their hands full too say the least. I am usually a very calm person, but if my dog is hurt, somebody's getting their ass kicked.

"Kaitlin, dinner's ready!" my mom yelled from the kitchen.

I hopped out of my bed and sluggishly walked down the staircase. I had to transform back to my crummy mood. When I finally entered the kitchen my mom smiled at me. I didn't return the gesture. She then got a disapproving look on her face and placed a hand on her hip.

"You don't have to like the move Kaitlin, but at least show a little enthusiasm, I made your favorite meal." she said hopefully, holding up a freshly baked lasagna.

I looked at the peace offering appreciatively. Being in a bitchy mood sure drains you. I decided to drop the act and perk up. My mom did mean well.

"Sorry mom. I just miss my friends."

"I know honey. But think about it. This is a chance to make new ones!" she replied. I gave her a half-hearted smile and dove into the lasagna. I love my mother's cooking.

.......()()().......

I woke up saturday morning still stuffed from my lasagna. I went on a morning run through my new neighborhood, and what a neighborhood it was. The houses were gargantuan. It was such a great run just because of my lovely surroundings. I retired home and decided to get my tan on. If I had to got to school on monday and meet my fellow seniors, then I would have to blend in. I thought the best way to do that would be to look like a local.

I put on my favorite silver bikini and spread sun tan lotion all over my body. After getting every square inch of my body covered, I walked out onto my breath-taking balcony. I laid a towel down and started a timer. 30 minutes on my back, 30 minutes on my front. After grabbing my favorite book, the Last Song, I collapsed onto my towel. I began reading, but quickly drifted into sleep.
