"I know. I'm not stupid, kid," he glared at me, which I just ignored. "I meant, what is the situation? Ever heard of common sense?" The fudge?
"Ever heard of the phrase 'stop BS-ing around'?"
He sneered at me. "You disrespectful, little wimp--!"
"Silence." Just as the word slipped out of my mouth, a sticky substance resembling a glue appeared in between his lips and started to spread out, only stopping when it finally covered his mouth fully. I always hated using this spell--because the sticky liquid made bile rise up my throat--but his ranting was getting on my nerves. Why couldn't he just listen without saying anything? Without throwing any form of insult or dirty looks? Was it really that hard?
"Did I really need to use that spell before you shut up?" I frowned at him, crossing my arms.
He started scratching the substance off his face but it was no use. The liquid had already dried up, and he would only hurt himself if he tries to take it off. Once he realized that, though, he apparently didn't take it lightly and tackled me to the ground. His elbow hit my stomach, making me choke on my own saliva, and we both went tumbling down the hall.
"Ouch! What the fudge?!" I muttered when my side hit the edge of an open door. Dammit, was being elbowed not enough? Now, a door? What's next? A baseball bat on my back? Was this guy purposely trying to break my ribs?! The hell?
He pulled his fist back, getting ready to punch me. Fear easily made its way into my body. My senses suddenly became alert. Too alert, if you ask me. I was too alarmed that it almost hurt. My stomach felt like it was pricked by a thousand needles. My intestines twisted uncomfortably. Or at least that was how it felt like. I was out of breath.
I'd never been punched before. Taken a hit, yes, but only in the form of illusions. Elementary Hunter Training didn't allow Mages to fight and hurt one another physically. It was prohibited, because we're important. We're the ones who protect the establishments. The ones who raise barriers. They can't afford to let us get hurt.
And now this? I was close to being socked in the face, with a man as huge as Hulk, and weighed a ton, straddling me. Just how do I handle such a tight situation?
My inner intelligence says that I have five options.
One. Try to push him off of my body, because other than the fact that our position provides me discomfort (what? He's straddling my freaking waist!), he was heavy and having him on top of me feels like some one put a sack of grain on my body. Try to kick him off, punch him, just to get him off.
Even though the chances of it succeeding is as many as the chances of seeing penguins fly.
Two, talk to him about something to delay the hit. Talk about the reason why I went here, the reason behind my sudden determination to talk to the principal.
Even though he would've punched me already before I even started my monologue.
Three, cast another spell to get him away from me. Although I haven't really tried to learn any of the Barrier spells, only offensive spells like Kindle, since Fire was my natural element from the start.
Even though him being assigned to guard Mr. Cobb meant that he could make a barrier around him to block it.
Four, cry and try to make him believe that I'm weak, apologize and plead.
Even though it would make me seem pathetic.
Five, insult him. Taunt him. Tell him that he isn't a real man if he hurts a girl.
Even though the chances of me getting punched harder is a lot higher than my chances of getting out of this uncomfortable and terrifying situation.
