Aria left for the military that year, leaving (y/n) to grow up with Winry, Edward and Alphonse.
She was happy with them, especially Edward. The two of them were both small, hated milk and happily played each and every day.
But then..something incredible happened.

Ed, Al, Winry and (y/n) were out in the field playing. When Ed decided to climb on top of a roof.
"Hey guys! Imma jump off! Watch me!"
(y/n) was horrified.
"Edward no!!!!" she ran forward, splaying her hand, and as if by magic, a gush of air kept Edward a foot off the ground. They all gasped. (y/n) grabbed her wrist, staring at her hand.

(y/n) began shaking. She was terrified of what she had done. Well. She didn't do anything bad as such, but still, she was scared. Really scared.

Edward hugged her. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay."
(y/n) buried her face in his chest and cried.
"What am I?! WHAT AM I?" She sobbed and he tightened his grip on her, trying his best to reassure her.

"You're an Elemental," he said confirming her fate.

From then on, (y/n) trained her powers every single day.

Until the day Trisha died.

"I don't understand..." tears flooded down Edward's face, as he hugged (y/n).

She pulled him close. Assuring him he would be alright.

It was her job to protect him now.
