Running out of time

Part 12 - Something's wrong

All of us went to Abel’s room in order to tell him about our plan, and he agreed to it without hesitation, even though he was mad the reality was slowly collapsing. After him we went to Olivia’s room, where Abel grabbed her on her hands, while Cain was explaining everything to facility’s staff. Luckily they didn’t have any problems with bringing us to a plane, with which we would travel to Yellowstone and restore the reality.

However we quickly realised our time was more limited than we originally thought, because while we were flying over the Atlantic Ocean, our pilot informed us that our plane was slowly losing speed and he had no idea if we would be able to make it to the Yellowstone. At the same time Myung-Ok was trying to reach Olivia’s consciousness with telepathy, but she wasn’t able to wake her up.

After some time our plane started falling down, and we were forced to jump out with parachutes. We quickly put them on and jumped down, where we saw a land beneath us, which meant, we managed to fly over the entire Atlantic Ocean and we were back in United States of America. All of our parachutes opened without any complications, but Abel was forced to hold Olivia in his hands while falling down.

The entire reality was glitching around us and neither of us knew if we had a chance to save this world anymore, but then Olivia opened her eyes and looked at us confused.

- What is going on? – She asked curiously.

- Our attempt of destroying that machine failed and we accidentally caused the universe to start glitching because of that, we need to get to SCP-2000 and find a thorn, which you have to turn into a flower. It will stabilize our world by connecting it with others. – Cain responded immediately.

- How far away from this SCP are we?

- Luckily not far away, only ten kilometers and we will be there.

- I am afraid it is already too late. – Abel said with sadness. – Look around.

The entire world around us was glitching like a badly made computer game. Trees, cars, everything had a bizarre behaviour and we knew we wouldn’t be able to make it on time by walking there. However, Olivia didn’t want to give up, and not only she created a car big enough to fit all of us inside, but she also tried to fight with the glitching reality by stabilizing everything around us. Immediately I took the wheel and started driving in the direction given by Cain, where we entered a vast facility and ran deeper into it, where we found an enormous metal door protecting the chamber of the thorn. Olivia instantly approached it and said:

- I will do what I should have done with the first door, which was preventing us from accessing SCP-2003.

She touched the door and with her powers, turned it into dust which fell on the floor. Without thinking about it we stepped inside and found a thorn in the middle of the room, which was our target. Cain explained to Olivia how the flower should look like, while Abel inscribed it with his sword on the floor.

- And what if it doesn't work? - She asked terrified. - What if I mess something up?

- If that doesn't work and we will die, then all I can say is thank you everyone for all this time. - Abel said with a calm voice.

- Abel you idiot, it will work! Olivia is smart and strong, I am sure she can fix the reality.

- Thank you Iris, I appreciate it.

- Don't mention it, we all know you can do it.

Olivia focused at the thorn which started glowing with a bright light, and reality around us started collapsing. I closed my eyes but it wasn’t enough to stop the world from pulling me out of the reality and throwing around, before I landed on a cold, green floor, where I lost consciousness one more time.

Dr Clef's POV:
The entire reality was slowly collapsing, even around me, which was surprising for me. I lost all hope and expected the worst, when suddenly everything stopped and reality was calm once more. Without thinking twice I called the O5 council and asked them few questions.

- Dr Clef here, did they manage to fix the reality?

- It turns out they did. - One of O5s answered my question.

- So you remember about their co-operation?

- Thankfully yes, but except the two of us nobody else remembers about the glitching reality, even the rest of council.

- Did anything change in this timeline?

- Not much, except the fact I have blond hair now.

- Where are they right now?

- SCPs are in Site-17, if they remember about everything we will release them to continue the mission.

- And this Y/N girl?

- Uhm... In her case we have a problem...
