Part 3 - Finding our destination

- This door's security has been designed by a person hiding under initials of J.H.

- So we have to find the one J.H. who is responsible for this, out of millions other people with the same initials, that helps us a lot Cain. - Myung Ok said with an irony in her voice.

- Believe me or not, but it helps us a lot, because I remember one person with those initials, who was a member of IT department in this facility, and if I am not mistaken...

Cain turned around again and looked at the keyboard with hope in eyes.

- ... Then this door has been designed to change its code every time after opening it. However, the amount of possibilities is not infinite, and it has its own database, from which it can be taken, and the only way to find out the new code...

He began typing numbers on the keyboard while recalling his memories.

- ... Is to type "3,1,4,1,5,9,2,6,5,3".

Having typed the last digit, the screen over the door turned blue and revealed a picture, which was supposed to be a hint. Two blue, but separated lines were followed by another two green ones, which stood behind three red lines, and except this image, there was nothing else on the screen. We looked at it and tried to find a solution to our problem, but nothing came to our mind. Abel pulled out his sword and began calculating something, while engraving his thinking on another wall.

- Two divided by two gives us one, so if we do two divided by two plus two, we will get a three, so if we continue this pattern we should get our code... - Abel mumbled under his nose. - But then we would get fractions, which we cannot put in there, so that's pointless...

Having said that, he tried to pierce the wall with his sword, but the sword penetrated only few centimeters of steel, before it stopped. I came closer to him, put a hand on his shoulder and said:

- It is fine Abel, we will find a way to save the world.

- How are we supposed to do this, if we cannot get past this door Y/N? - He said with anger and sadness in his voice, while turning around.

- Because I know that we will succeed, and one obstacle on our way will not stop us. - I told him while looking into his eyes.

- I agree with her. - Iris said while approaching Abel. - All of us tried so many times to get out of containment in order to meet and spend some time together. We caused tens of containment breaches in order to escape at least for few hours, and we didn't give up. Each time they put us in our cells again, we were planning another escape route. If not this world ending scenario, then in two weeks we would have caused another one, just to chat for few hours. We overcame so many obstacles, and we will overcome this one too, even if this is the last thing we ever do.

Abel looked at her surprised, and approached the screen again.

- Maybe you are right Iris, but how are we supposed to find a sequence for this?

- Maybe we have to look at this differently, and read it from right to left, and not from left to right?

- ... Or maybe these two blue lines shouldn't be counted as two, but as one and one?! - Abel exclaimed while looking at us. - Maybe this is the sequence we need?

I began counting lines in my head, and suddenly an obvious solution came to my mind. I approached the keyboard and typed "1,1,2,3,5,8,1,3,2,1". Having typed that, the screen turned green and the door has opened, allowing us to enter the containment chamber of SCP-2003.

- You were right Abel, it wasn't two, but one and one! You are a genius! - Iris said with satisfaction in eyes.

- But what was the solution? - Abel asked with curiosity.

- Fibonacci Sequence. - I told him while being over the moon. - Lets get inside and save the world.

We passed through the opened door and found ourselves inside a containment chamber of SCP-2003. The SCP itself was designed to travel into alternate future timelines, allowing the Foundation to find out how to make them happen or prevent them from becoming a reality, but after recent modifications it also allows to travel few weeks back in time. And this amount of time should be enough for all of us to find a way, to destroy SCP-PL-106 and prevent the universe from collapsing.

Cain and Abel were reading the manual about using SCP-2003, while everyone else was trying to find a power source, which was necesarry for us to use it. We were searching for it for few minutes, before we have found out, that the power supply has been cut off in order to prevent others from using the machine. I slammed the desk with my fist and asked:

- Does anyone have an idea how to power up this thing?

- It used to be powered up from behind with a nuclear reactor, but it turns out that the reactor has been dismantled. - Cain said with dissapointment.

- And our entire plan is screwed because we cannot create enough energy to power up this thing. - Abel exclaimed with anger.

- There has to be a way to power this up. Maybe I could use my powers and create a new reactor?

We all looked at Olivia, who was determined to help us.

- Olivia... Do you even know how reactors work? - Cain asked her.

- No, but I can imagine that it works and it should be enough.

- It is too risky. One missing part inside a reactor and all of you are dead, while I will survive few more hours before the universe collapses.

- Olivia's idea could work though.

- What do you mean Y/N?

- How does the machine work Cain?

- When the machine receives enough energy, it immediately sends its users across the timeline. There is no countdown, no time to say goodbye, it happens instantly.

- And where does the machine accept the energy?

- There is a plate behind it, which accepts all received energy. But you would need an entire nuclear reactor to power it, and this facility doesn't have...

Having said that, he remembered something, which gave him a risky idea.

- I... I think that I know how to power up this thing. There is a nuclear reactor on the bottom floor, after activating it we will have two minutes before it blows up. Brother, I will give you instructions how to get there. You will activate it and run back to us immediately. Olivia, you will put a shield around the entire room except this one plate which powers up SCP-2003. After Abel turns on the nuke, I will activate the machine and we will enter it. When Abel arrives, Olivia will allow him to enter the room without destroying the shield. If everything goes well, the explosion will power up SCP-2003 and we will be sent back in time. If it fails, then all of you will vaporize while I will feel an unbearable pain. Do you want to risk it?

We looked at one another and agreed to the plan. Abel started running in the direction give to him by Cain, while Olivia created a shield around the entire room, leaving a single plate unprotected. After one minute we have heard a warning about a nuke, which has been activated. Cain turned on the machine and stepped inside with all of us. I truely hoped, that Abel will make it to us on time, and it turned out that he did. Having entered the machine, he took a deep breath, while I continued counting seconds until the explosion.

When the timer went down to five seconds, I have started shaking and grabbed Abel's hand, afraid that our plan will not work. When the timer went down to zero, I felt how the entire time around me has slowed down, and I saw the nuclear explosion hitting Olivia's shield. I felt how the machine pulls me out of my current position and brutally throws me across the timeline. My entire body felt like I was being ripped apart to atoms and then immediately put back together. Then the process would repeat over and over, and I felt like I was about to vomit, but because my stomach's content was also being ripped apart, I couldn't do it.

Suddenly, I have landed on the ground while everyone else fell on my back. It was good to feel my body again, but I was so weak after this travel, that I started losing consciousness. The last thing which I have heard, was an alarm in Japaneese, which I couldn't understand.
