My mind scattered, torn even further asunder.
'He wants me!'
'No he doesn't!'
'You're delusional!'
'You're cynical!'
'You're insane!'
'You're useless!'
'You're worthless!'
'You're an idiot!'
A thousand voices screamed in my head
Of how everything I was was you,
All the while reminding me
Nothing I was could be you.

Demons overran my paradise.
The haven I'd created for you and me,
To escape from the pathetic travesty that had become my life,
It was all in vain.

They followed me here,
Trapped me in an endless spiral
Timeless, nameless, speechless,
No sense in the world anymore,
Just a haze of black and sick thoughts.

Then, one day,
I snapped.

'This mortal flesh was the problem.'

I hacked away at my own skin,
Rabid, frenzied, utterly bereft.
The knell of death had finally sounded,
The requiem of my final hours,
An alarm that resonated through my very soul.

I was living as dead-
My life had ran away with you,
Been absorbed by you;
My shell was dying and it needed me back.

Infinite desert was all I saw.
Life was bleak and pointless now.
The thing I'd wanted most of all
Was nowhere to be found.
You were the one to me,
The one I'd always longed to be.
You had no clue what you'd done to me,
And you probably never will.
