The Contest and Assumptions

"Here. Take a look at this." ray said handing us his book

"Mechanical Engineering and The History of Humans..." emma said with a sweat drop

"Not the title. The date." ray said

Norman opened the book and said "...2015."

"Thats the most recent book I could find in the house. In other words, if you think about it in simpler terms, up until 2015. The world was a place where something like this was possible to get published." ray said

"So 30 years ago." I said looking at ray

"Exactly like that. I did mention worst case scenario before. But there might still actually be a possibility of a human society out there. Still, we cant act rashly. We need to collect intel about the outside world, our enemies, a way to get out of here and a way to survive beyond that. If were going to do this, were going to do this right!" ray said making all three of us nod our head

"Alright!" emma said thrusting her fist up in the air

And all of us started heading towards the library

As we were walking out of the forest, My stomach started to act up not wanting to wait, I said to them "Hey guys! You go right on ahead I need to do something first."

"What is it?" emma asked

"Is it important?" norman asked

while ray was looking at me all sus

"Yeah, I need to use the bathroom. It will only take me a couple of minutes." I said reassuring them with a smile

"Oh! Okay then, go to the library when your done." emma said with a smile

"Sure!" I said running off towards the house as if there was something chasing after me. Leaving the trio behind

As the trio saw harley's retreating figure going inside the house. Ray spoke up

"She must really need to go..." ray said impressed by the speed harley displayed

After ray's comment, they continued walking in silence untile norman speaks up

"So emma... You also like harley?" norman asked looking at ray then emma

"W-what do you mean?" emma stuttered trying to hide the blush starting to show itself on her face

"Its alright emma. You dont need to hide it. Its kind of obvious from the way you look at her and your reaction to my question." norman said with a smile

Emma looked at her two friends and asked "You guys too?"

Ray nodded his head while norman answered with "Yeah! I like her a lot."

"So... why did you bring it up, norman?" ray asked looking at him

Norman looked at them both with a serious look on his face and said "Why? To start a contest of course."

"A contest?" emma looked confused

Norman nodded "A contest for who will be with harley." he said

"So harley's lover?" ray asked

"Yeah" norman said

"When does the contest start?" emma asked

Norman goes in front of the two and said "Right here. Right now. We agree to go after harley but never sabotage another's relationship with her. Agreed?" he proclaimed

"Agreed!" emma said while ray nodded both with a determined and fiery look on their faces

"Then. Let the games begin." norman said

Then the trio set off again towards the library

As I went out of the bathroom with a grateful sigh and washed hands

I started to head towards the library with a skip on my step until I heard a voice calling me

"Harley! Can you come her for a moment?" mama asked while holding her watch

I put on a smile and said "Sure mama" skipping towards her

"What do you need help with?" I asked her

She smiled and asked "Do you know where norman, ray and emma are?"

"Last time I saw them was that we were outside on the fields as I left them to go to the bathroom" I said with a smile hiding any other expression to not give her a hint that I know something is up

She looked at me, examining me and the works but found nothing

She smiled and said to me "Can you go and call those three then come back here I need the four of your help with something."

"Sure thing mama." I said heading off towards to go outside to give her the idea that I dont know where they are so I'ma start finding them the last time I saw them

After going outside asking kids where they are for evidence I started to go to the library

There I saw them looking through books

They notice my presence and emma asked "Hey! Why did you take so long?"

"Mama" I said in a serious tone

Making all three of them look at me with a serious look

"What did she do?" ray asked

"She was asking were you three were and asked me to go and get you three to come with me to help her with something. And she knows." I said

"What do you mean?" norman asked

"I mean she might know that there are kids who know the secret of this place." I said

"Is it true?" emma asked looking shocked

"Even if its true or not, its better to assume she knows and is trying with everything that she's got not to let us escape this place." I said

"Your right. Lets assume she knows, we cant be too reckless with this. Its for the better" norman said

"We should go to mama to not let her get suspicious of us." ray said making all three of us nod

Then all four of us went to where mama was standing near the door of an unused room while don and gilda facing her

We went and lined up as well following this sequence

Don, Gilda, Me, Emma, Norman then Ray

I looked at this scene knowing full well whats about to happen next

"What is it, mama?" don asked

Mama smiled while holding her watch and said "Could I ask you all... to help me with some chores?"
