The warm sun hit my face and a delicious scent filled my nose. I slowly shifted off the bed and got myself up. I wander into the kitchen curiously. Tío Emilio's busy making scrambled eggs and Tía Rosie's preoccupied herself by reading a book at the dining table.
"Good morning Tía, Tío." I say groggily.
Rosie looks up from her book and gives me a warm smile. "Morning sleepyhead. Come, sit." She points me to a chair across from her. I only nod and abide to her request.
"You ready for your first official day at the Encanto?" She says with a hint of excitement in her voice.
"Of course! What are we going to do today?"
Emilio comes over, setting plates filled with eggs, bacon, beans, and some tortillas in front of us. He takes a seat as well.
"I'll tell you what we're doing today. Today, is a Madrigal ceremony! Meaning, we will be attending."
"Madrigal ceremony..?" I put the eggs, beans, and bacon onto my tortilla, creating a breakfast taco. "What's a Madrigal ceremony?"
He lowers his voice to a whisper, "I'll tell you.." he pauses, "Right after we run a few errands!"
I groan, "Heyyy that's not fair!"
Tía Rosie laughs, "Emilio! How cruel"
"It's perfectly fair. How about this. While we run some errands, you can come with us and I could give you a mini tour of the town?"
My eyes light up "Sí! I'd like that!"
"Then hurry and eat. Then get dressed and I'll take you."
"Mkayf!" I say with my mouth full of breakfast taco. It doesn't take long for me to finish. After I'm done I rush back up to my room to get rid of my night wear. I put on the same thing I had the day prior.
I do my hair and brush my teeth. When I'm finally ready, I go back downstairs. The two had finished eating and Emilio had a cup of coffee in his hand. He looked at my as I came down.
"Ready to go?" He asks.
I nodded my head. "Yup."
"Then off we go!" He put his cup down and grabs Tía Rosie's hand, helping her up. She smiles and mutters a thanks.

We walked through the town. My relatives pointed out a few of the main buildings: a Church, a market, a flower shop, and more. Tío made a quick pit stop at the flower shop to buy something for Rosie, but something, no, someone caught my attention. Music, singing. I turned to the direction of the voice.
A girl who looked to be around my age, was singing to a group of kids—
"Where all the people are fantastical and magical, I'm part of the Family Madrigal!"
I raised a brow. So that's a Madrigal?
She started running around the town as the kids followed her. Curiosity got the best of me as I decided to follow her, but from a distance, and see what the 'amazing Madrigals' were all about.
"My Tía Pepa," the girl neared a middle aged woman with ginger colored hair.
"When she's unhappy, we'll the temperature gets weird!" My eyes widened as Pepa slipped, and a rain cloud formed over her head.
What?? What just?? How did she??
I zone out thinking about what I just saw, but her singing brought me back to my senses.
