"Unt Unt. She too loud."

I sucked my teeth and stuffed my hands in my hoodie. "Whatever. Let's go. Watch it be dead as fuck outside."

We walked out and I locked the door behind us. The loud spanish music vibrated through the walls. Our slides clicked against the stairs as we skipped down them.

I took a deep breath before walking through the front doors of my building. It wasn't as cold as I expected but it was still cold as fuck.

"Walking on this block again bringing back so much memories."

"Word. You remember when my dad use to always take us to that bakery down the block. That was when life was so easy."

"That Bakery still here?" She asked looking around. "Oop." She said. I followed her eyes and traced it back to a bunch of cars double parked in front of the block. It was cold as hell and I only had this hoodie on, I didn't have time to check for who was in those cars. However the loud music already let me know it had to be someone from here.

"Nah It closed down like last year. They macaroons use to buss though." I held the door opened for her as we made it to the front of the Deli. It wasn't that crowded but it was more people there then usual.

"Lemme get a chop cheese with no lettuce. Add Hot Sauce." Nunu said, she looked over at me. "What you want?"

"I'm dead not even in the mood for a sandwich. I'm about to just buy some snacks. You got something for Bj?"

"Oh shit. Lemme get another Chop Cheese but this one with everything on it." She spoke to the ock.

We both walked to the back getting our beverages and all I could think about was getting my brownies.

"Why the fuck are these hard?" I said pressing down on the cosmic brownies the store had.

"Yo lemme get fronto." Nas busted through the deli doors, tossing a bill on the counter.

I could see the regular group of niggas in front of the deli along with Bj being loud. Dougie then came in front of the door laughing at something someone probably had said. When we locked eyes, his smile melted away. He stared for long, but I wasn't bugged by it at all. His big ass eyes really complimented his face.

"Nah why are y'all eyeing each other like that?" Nunu laughed.

"I don't know." I broke eye contact, looking over at the display stand with different candies and chocolate bars. "He be moving funny. I'm about to graduate. Deadass don't got time for him." I rolled my eyes thinking about the whole thing that went down between me and him.

"Damn what the fuck he do?"

I exhaled and turned around, shifting all my weight to my left leg.

"He be making my life difficult sis." I said rolling my neck as I spoke.

"Well he about to make it worse he coming over here."

"Yo India why you grilling me like that?" He said walking up to us.

"Boy nobody was grilling you." I calmly replied. A smirk stretched across his face as he looked at me up and down.

"Where y'all about to go?"

"No where. Just getting some food and then going back in the crib." Nunu said.

"Nunu motherfucking Banks." Dougz said pulling out his phone and recording her. "Welcome back to the block lil nigga."

"I forgot how annoying you are." She said covering her face.

"What y'all doing out here?" He questioned. I convinced he just wanted to come here to bother us.

"We just buying food like normal civilians." I mumbled smartly. He looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows.

"You going to school tomorrow?" He asked, shifting his gaze to me.

I made a face cause that was a random ass question. "Yeah why?"

"Imma pick you up. You still get out at three right?" He said with a smirk playing up to his lip.

"Yeah." I said returning a smirk back that I couldn't even fight off. I was surprised he was being nice to me, we haven't talked ever since we had that conversation that went wrong the other day.

"Ight so Imma see you tomorrow." He said flicking my forehead.

"You play too much." I said rubbing the spot where he flicked me on, watching him walk off. I watched his retreating figure make his way back to his friends. He pulled his pants up and smiled at the man in the front of the store.

I felt myself smiling looking at him. His smile just radiated happiness. People definitely ain't lie when they said he had the best energy, the boy didn't even have to know you just to put a smile on your face.

"Not you just git yourself a date after school." Nunu said bringing me back to reality.

"Date?" I chuckled. "We just friends."

"Now this. What happened to he be making your life difficult?" She said mocking me.

"Ew girl you know who you sound like right now?"

"Who?"

"Dthang." I giggled. "Nigga always doing that with his voice."

"I'm jacking you be making your life hard. I don't even have to know to much to know that you still like that boy."
