Chapter 39 - The D-day

Start from the beginning

"Appa, I am hungry, are we going to get married or not" Mithra said holding her father's chin and pulling it to face her, breaking the perfect romantic moment to pieces

"Yes Appa, its so boring, come let us go or let us get down, at least we will go" Nethra too retorted rolling her eyes, making the elders break into laughter.

"Vaalu, vaa polaam" Sivaangi replied holding Ashwin's hand, taking Mithra from him and started walking towards the wedding arena.

All four of them entered the lawn which was temporarily converted into a marriage arena.

At the end was a cute and small stage which was beautifully decorated with white and purple flowers. The whole walk to the stage was designed with continuous arches of same colored flowers, whereas the seating arrangements were done on  either side of the arches.

The moment the came near the arch, everyone's eyes turned towards them, Ashwin was carrying Nethra on his left hand while his right hand held on to Sivaangi's left hand tight. Similarly, Sivaangi was carrying Mithra on her right hand, while holding Ashwin's hand tight with her left.

The happiness and content in their eyes and smile, the chirpy, bubbliness from the kids reverberated around the arena so much that no one in their right mind wanted to judge them but only wish them life long happiness.

They both walked happily, hand in hand, while the kids waved their hands to anyone and everyone they managed to make eye contact with.

Their 'hi' s , 'hello's and giggles started making the event even more festive.

"Kids enga kitta kuduthutu, you guys sit down" both the grandmothers came forward

"Illama, let them sit next to us as long as they want, bore adicha avangale ezhundhu poiduvaanga, till that time enga koodaye irukattum" Ashwin said patiently and sat down along with Sivaangi on the stage with Nethra to his one side, while Mithra sat on Sivaangi's side.

The ceremony started as happily as she could hope for.

"Boss, oru vazhiya periya rowdy chinna rowdies ellarayum correct panniteenga, romba happy boss" Sakthi whispered coming and sitting behind Ashwin.

"Shh.. Sakthi uncle, we are praying" Nethra said, sincerely trying to repeat all the mantras that her father is supposed to say after the priest making everyone laugh

It was time for them to exchange garlands, and hence both turned to face each other.

Ashwin looked at vasanth, who immediately came with four small garlands too.

As the priest recited the mantras, Ashwin placed the big garland on Sivaangi and the small garlands on Nethra and Mithra getting cheer of claps and hoots from the guests.

Sivaangi too followed the same, placed the big garland on Ashwin whereas the small garlands on their daughters successfully keeping up their promise that all four of them will get married on that day.

The girls too squealed in joy and clapped their hands, got up and showed their garlands proudly to every one around there.

Every single eyes that looked at them beamed with pride and happiness.

As predicted they both got tired of sitting on the stage that they moved away, trying to show the garland to anyone and everyone who was willing to hear them which turned out to be almost everybody.

"Thaali katra time aagiduchu, yaarellam varnumo inga stage pakkathula vaango" the priest announced to everyone around.

Mika came near them holding Mithra, while Ashwin's mother came there holding Nethra.

Surrounded by people who love them and wishes of many around the world, with tear filled eyes Ashwin tied the sacred thread around Sivaangi's neck, making his family whole once and for all.

Sivaangi looked at her parents, she could finally see that real carefree happiness in their eyes after so long. She turned and looked around the people who were there, she could identify few of her distant relatives, her friends, Ashwin's relatives whom she had minimum introductory interactions, some prominent people from the industry, and some whom she didn't know. She could see variety of emotions in their eyes, happiness, surprise, amusement, adoration, jealousy even in some girls whom she had never met before, but not even one eye showed judgement, disgust or attitude.

She turned and looked at the man who made it all happen, who tirelessly pursued her despite both of their short comings, who never gave up on them even when she did, who loved her with whole of his heart and waited for her patiently.

With overwhelming heart and love filled eyes, she turned to his side completely, pulled him closer, held his cheeks in her palms and looked deep into his eyes which conveyed to him everything the words failed miserably to do. He smiled back at her with same amount of intensity and love, she blinked her eyes forcing the tears to fall, leaned forward and kissed him strong and hard on his forehead which was captured beautifully to be framed for the rest of their life by the photographer.
