"What?" I practically scream through the phone. I didn't even bother checking the screen for the name, the light was too bright. Whoever calling this late at night better have a good explanation, no scratch that, a freaking great one !

"No need to scream, i was just checking if you woke up"

"At the middle of the damn night?"

"If only you'd open those windows, you would know that it's morning already"

Shit. Right. I hung up on my mother without answering her, that's what happens when you're halfway across the damn world. I opened the so called windows but closed them immediately when they burned my eyes. Mornings. I hate mornings.

I dragged myself to the bathroom to get ready, once out, i put on a black, slightly over-sized t-shirt, ripped black jeans and leather boots. I styled my red hair in a messy bun. Not the kind of bun you will find tutorials on on youtube. My bun just screams rushed and impatient. And I couldn't care less.

Got my bag on my shoulder and my phone in my hand, i am ready to go. Let the change begin.

I finally get out of my room and went to the kitchen where my aunt was sitting. Who just had to cry louder once I opened the door. She even took a picture of me, who does that? Should I remind the woman that i'm not dying? No way, she'll probably cry even louder.

After drinking a cup of orange juice I went outside, while my aunt scolded me for bringing food to her car. The woman won't see me for a long time, she should be happy I left a souvenir, even though they're crumbles.... They count.

"You ready?" She asked, once the car trunk was closed, obviously more excited than I will ever be to get on the road.

"Yeah"

"You sure you got everything?"

"Yeah"

"Need anything?"

"Could you just start the car?"

"Oh right, let's get going then !" she giggled

The long hours have passed with her talking about her teenage years, and how the best years of her life were her college years and bla bla bla. I put on my earphones because I didn't want to listen to her obnoxious perfect life story. She didn't seem to mind, she kept talking anyways. So typical of her.

"What the hell?!" why would she yank my earphones out of my ears? They better not be broken, i need my dose of music if I'm going to survive this. Plus, it costs money, finding cheap but good earphones ain't easy !

"We're almost there aren't you excited?" She shrugs and smiles, her eyes sparkling.

Well at least she's not crying.

"A dream come true" i answer sarcastically and roll my eyes. I will never understand what all the fuss is about going to college? Why the crying, over-thinking about what to wear, what to say and how to act around people? The way I see it, its useless and well, pointless. Cause at the end of the day, im just another face in the crowd. And if anyone were to remember me, which i hope not. I would prefer they see a real version than a shallow one. But let's be honest here, either way, i'm as invisible as white ink, and I fucking love it.

"You could at least pretend to be happy"

"Whats the point?"

"Who knows maybe you'll like it"

"Like you said maybe, which translates to probably not. Besides college is probably not so different from high school, right?"

"Riiighht..." she sarcastically remarks "Well unlike high school, you better not get in trouble!"
