Morticias's POV:

I cradled L in my arms.
He was starting to wake up.

"You awake love?," He asked almost desperately.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Do you want to get up?," L asked me.

"Only if you want to," I said weaving my fingers with his.

We both got up after a little while.

L went into the Living Room while I went into the Kitchen.

I was going to make him his favorite.

Flashback to when L and I were 19

I was baking L a cake to try.

"Morticia? Where are you?," He called.

"In here!" I shouted.

He found me and looked at me confused.

"What are you doing?," He asked.

"What do you think I'm doing?," I said and swiped a bit of flour on his nose.

All of the sudden, L took a pinch of flour and flicked it on my face.

"Hey!" I said jokingly.

*BEEP BEEP* The timer went off.

I got the cake out and started carefully decorating.

I tried to be as precise as possible.

L was leaning over my shoulder so it was hard to concentrate but honestly I didn't mind.

He watched as I put the frosting, decorations and final details on.

"Wow..." He said with wide eyes and drool.

"If only you drooled over me like that," I joked.

I put a little bit of flour on my fingers and pulled his lip down.

He gawked at me. Just wide eyes. What was that man thinking? I giggled.

L slithered his arms around my waist and said "Why don't we go on a trip?,"

He started swaying to the sound of nothing.

"Where's this coming from dear?," I questioned looking him in the eyes but smiling.

"I don't know. I just want to spend more time with my fiance," L replied and used a certain tone with the word 'fiance'.

"Where would we go?~" I asked looking deep into his mysterious eyes.

We were about to kiss and then guess who walked in....

Watari

Our eyes shot to him.

"L? Morticia? What are you two doing in here?," He asked.

L was at a loss for words.

"We were baking," I said.

"Its 2 am...." He said.

"Is it really that late?," I said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. You kids finish up and get a good night's rest," The kind old man said with his as Mello called it 'sweet as pie smile'.

Watari was always so kind and cheerful all the time. It made me wonder if he was harboring his feelings.

So what I did when L was asleep that night....was try to find out Watari's background.

What I found was unremarkable sad. He was forced into this job. He apparently liked it at first then had mistakenly signed a forever binding contract. This made Watari hate the job, he saw kids mistreated by the other kids and adults here. But he couldn't do anything about it. Poor Watari.
