I smiled sweetly. I was glad that my best friend really cared about me, even if he has been acting weird lately.
"Yeah, don't worry about me." I assured him.
"Are you kidding me? It kills me to see you in pain, Willow. How am I not supposed to worry?" He declared, leaving me speechless.
"Umm, thank you, I guess?" I giggled, making him smile.
"Your giggles are cute." He grinned. I tried not to blush, but it soon gave away. He smiled even wider this time but he face turned really serious.
"But seriously, what happened, Willow?" He asked.
"Oh no, nothing. Just a moment of weakness, that's all." I assured again. He didn't look convinced, but he nodded.
We drove in a comfortable silence for another hour or two, sometimes Zayne dozing off and me waking up to see my head leaning on Zayne's shoulder or the window on the left. As soon as we reached the camp, the bus halted into a rough stop, waking up all the people in the bus, including me. I groaned and rubbed my eyes, straightening myself up and looking out the glass. It was still dark, but I could see a lot of tall trees outside in a row on the other side of the road. I got up with Zayne and followed in suit of the other people who were getting out. As soon as I did, I couldn't look away from the view in front of me.
There were multiple mountains covered with greenwood surrounding a huge plane area which happens to be the camp. From afar, a lot of wooden cabins, all fairly big in size as far as the eye could see, was located in the plane. Every single one of them, except the largest cabin, were divided into four sections, with the largest one in the middle of the four. At the end of the camp, a huge lake dragged on so much that I had to squint my eyes to see the end. The road the buses were on was at the top of a hill, making everything more open and clearer.
"It's beautiful," I murmured, still not taking away my eyes off the dazzling view.
"Not a beautiful as you are." Zayne whispered to my ear, his breath extra warm because of the low temperature.
"What?" I asked confusedly.
"You know what I said." He replied, sending a wink my way. He strolled towards the luggage, picked it up and went down the hilly road but not before he smiled flirtatiously at my way and winked again.
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with him?
He's acting really differently.
But wait, could it be?
No way.
It can't be.
But what if, he does?
No, he said he has eyes on someone else. Stop jumping into conclusions, Willow. Maybe he's doing it to piss you off.
I slapped myself mentally for thinking stupid thoughts and went to pick out my luggage and get this camping shit over with.
Which still has two long months to go. Yay!
Ahem, note the sarcasm.
I squeezed through the crowd of people who were fighting to get their bags. As soon as I pushed myself in, I got ahold of my bags, but alas, fate will never be kind to me.
My hand brushed on a certain someone else's rough hands, immediately sending electric sparks to course through my body.
It was a feeling I was familiar with.
I jerked my arm away as if it had been burned by the light touch. And in a way, it was.
I looked up to see the emerald green eyes already staring at mine and for a minute there, it was just the two of us. The world around me faded away and it was replaced by the memories I've had with him throughout the years. The first time we met, the hospital, spending time together, him promising he'll never leave me, me realising my crush for him, then the jealousy, not only by my part but his too, rebelling together, our mothers playing matchmaker, all of it.
