(Maddies pov)
I sat at the arena watching the boys goof off at morning skate before Dan came out on the ice. I quickly pulled out my phone and snapped a picture before putting in on Instagram.
@Maddie183- Watching the boys practice this morning before they kick some Philly butt 😜
I locked my phone and then watched the boys start doing drills after Dan had finished telling them the game plan. I sat watching James skate in tight circles before grabbing the puck and shooting it in the back of the net and joking with flower when he would score.
An hour later James and I walked out of the arena hand in hand to subway grabbing some food before heading home. I hummed to the radio as the music quietly played through the radio. James grabbed my hand and laced my fingers with his before he glanced at me and smiled.
"What's got you so smiley?" I questioned chuckling.
"Just got the most beautiful girl sitting by my side. I'm doing what I love for my career. Life's great," James said smiling brightly and squeezing my hand.
I hopped out of the car still smiling from what James said a short time ago. I walked into the house plopping down on the couch besides James before we both dug into our sandwiches while watching Pens in the Room.
"I can't believe they put that on there," James groaned after they showed his interview about how often he washes his hair.
I giggled before running my fingers through his hair,"I still like it."
"Thanks babe," James said kissing me before getting up to throw our trash away.
"Pre-game nap?" James asked standing in the doorway after throwing away our trash.
"Sounds delightful," I said standing up before following James upstairs. I changed clothes and then slipped into bed besides James. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. James ran his fingers through my hair which combined with his heartbeat lulled me to sleep very easily.
"Mads wake up. We got to get ready," James whispered. I opened my eyes slowly to see James smiling down at me. I groaned before slowly sitting up and trudging to the bathroom. I splashed some cold water on my face already feeling better. I brushed my teeth and then did my makeup and straitened my hair leaving it down. I walked out of the bathroom and slipped on some light wash skinny jeans and my home Neal jersey.
"You look gorgeous," James said after I stood up from booting on my black ankle boots.
"Thanks handsome," I said kissing his cheek before lacing my fingers with his and walking out to the car where James opened my door for me.
We arrived at the Igloo and I kissed James quickly before heading to my seat. As I walked to my seat I saw a little boy crying all alone as people just walked around him ignoring him.
"What's wrong honey?" I asked sweetly walking up to the five year old boy and bending down to his level.
"I wost my mommy," he said tears still falling down his face.
"How about I help you find her? I'm Maddie by the way," I said giving the boy a friendly smile.
"Okay and my names Cameron and I'm this old," he said holding up five little fingers. I smiled wiping the tears from his cheeks before standing up and grabbing Cameron's hand.
"Do you have your ticket?" I asked Smiling down at Cameron who held onto my hand. He nodded his head and handed me the folded up piece of paper that had been printed off ticketmaster.com
"Alright I know where this is, but hey you wanna do something fun first?" I asked smiling brightly.
"Yeah!" He exclaimed smiling a toothy smile at me. I quickly swooped him off his feet and carried him down to the locker room.
"Want to go meet the guys and tell them good luck?" I said smiling.
"Yes!" He screeched brightly.
I pulled open the door and walked in to see everyone dressed in their gear. I set Cameron down and he stared in awe as all the guys got ready, but quit noticing Cameron and my presence. Cameron quickly grabbed my hand obviously nervous.
"Hey guys this is my friend Cameron," I said smiling squeezing his hand slightly. He waved his hand giving a small smile to all the guys.
"Hey buddy. I'm Sidney, but you can call me Sid. Are you going to come watch the warmups?" Sid asked smiling.
"I have to go find my mommy," Cameron replied.
"How about you come sit on the bench first and the Maddie will take you to find your mom," Sid questioned.
"Okay!" He said brightly.
I walked with Cameron out to the bench and sat down placing him on my lap. Each guy fist bumped Cameron smiling on there way out to the ice.
"You like this?" I asked trying to be loud so he could hear me over the music.
"Yeah!" He exclaimed.
After the warmup the boys all signed his Crosby jersey and Sid gave him a stick telling him to take care of it before we took a big group picture and got him a puck that was used during warm-ups.
I walked with Cameron holding Sids autographed stick that was taller than him. I walked up to the seats that his family owned that weren't horrible seats.
"Hey I found Cameron," I said to the mom and father who were on there phones.
"Oh my god thank you so much we were so worried," the mom shrieked hugging Cameron.
"Whatcha got there buddy?" The father asked his son.
"Maddie took me to meet the penguins and Sid gave me a puck and his stick and they all signed my shirt!" He exclaimed excited. Both the parents thanked me in awe and I gave my number to the mom so that I could keep in touch with the little boy and the parents.
I sat at my seat as the lights dimmed and it was time for the boys to hit the ice against the much dislike Philadelphia Flyers.
