"Let's put on the new dress you got from uncle Alex" Meredith smiled as she dressed her three year old daughter into the pink dress she put next to her

"Mommy!" Grace giggled as Meredith tickled her

"What's wrong with my tickle monster?" Meredith smiled

"No" Grace kept giggling "Mommy, stop"

"Now let's continue getting dressed" Meredith smiled and kissed Grace's forehead

"Don't wanna go" Grace sighed

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Meredith frowned "You used to love coming with us to the hospital"

"Don't know" Grace shrugged

"Oh honey, mommy and daddy love you so much" She lifted the girl into her arms "It's almost your birthday. Did you and daddy already discuss what kind of party you want?"

"Rainbow!" Grace giggled

"Rainbow it is" Meredith giggled

Meredith walked down with Grace and helped the little girl to put on her shoes

"Are you two almost ready?" Derek asked as he was carrying their stuff to the car

"Almost" Meredith smiled softly and started putting on Grace's second shoe

It didn't take long before all three of them were in the car on their way to Grey-Sloan memorial

"I can't wait for our midweek off" Meredith smiled as she looked into Derek's eyes

"Bailey wasn't very happy about it. Both chief of neuro and general that take 4 days off" Derek laughed

"I know but we need it" Meredith breathed

"Mommy, look!" Grace giggled and pointed at some cows

"Wow Gracie, look how much" Meredith smiled as Derek kept driving

...

"Dr Grey, Dr Shepherd needs you in the ER" Stephany edwards said

"I'm on my way" Meredith started to run and entered the examination room "What do we got?" She asked

"Twenty-four year old male, his stomach if hard, but he's drunk. We have to check his bloodwork" Derek filled her in

"Noo!" The guy yelled

"Sir, you need to lay still" Meredith tried to hold the man back but wasn't strong enough. The guy pushed her off of him and Meredith slammed in the cabinet, eventually falling on the ground

"Mer!" Derek gasped and walked over to her "Sedate him!" He yelled as he kneeled down next to Meredith

"Aww" She rubbed her head but got up anyways with the help of Derek

"Are you okay? You should go get a head CT" Derek said

"No, it's fine" Meredith shrugged him off

"Let me do a quick neuro exam at least

"Let's get him to an OR" Meredith instructed

Meredith and Derek were each doing their things and now and then looked into each other's eyes

"Wanna have lunch together?" Derek softly smiled at her

"Yeah, that would be nice.. I'm dying to see Grace" Meredith smiled back

"Let's finish here first" Derek said and went back to concentrating on the woman who was laying on the table in front of him

It didn't take that long before they both were finished and had closed her up. Their residents would take care of them as Meredith and Derek went to scrub out

"I'm glad that woman's okay" Meredith breathed

"Yeah" Derek breathed and kissed Meredith's forehead

"Let's go get Gracie, I'm starving" Meredith softly laughed

"I bet she'll want nuggets" Derek predicted

"Na-ah, for sure that she'll want fish sticks" Meredith shook her head

"Because mommy wants them?" Derek joked

"Sorry that Grace and I love the same things" Meredith winked

"That's true, you both love me" Derek smirked

"That's our bad taste" Meredith teased and Derek pretended to be hurt. They went over to daycare and went with Grace to the cafeteria

"Fish sticks!" Grace yelled

"Told you" Meredith laughed "Let's get you fish sticks, I want them too" Meredith laughed and kissed Grace's forehead

"I'll go get our food, you can sit down with her if you want" Derek suggested

"What do you think, Gracie? Should we let daddy be our slave?"

"Yes! Daddy is a slave" Grace giggled. Derek loved her giggle, it reminds him so much of his wife's giggle

"Hmm.. Slave. Sounds kinky" Derek smirked

"Derek!" Meredith gasped as her cheeks turned red "Fish sticks" Meredith laughed

"And ice cream!" Grace added

"And ice cream, of course" Derek laughed and went to get their food as Meredith and Grace went over to one of the tables in the corner

"Can we have a princess tea party tonight?" Grace smiled

"Of course" Meredith smiled softly "I-Oh" Meredith stared at the table

"Mommy?"

"Hmm?" Meredith frowned

"I'm hungry" Grace giggled

"Yeah.. yeah" Meredith rubbed her head

"Here you go" Derek walked back to them and put their plates in front of them

Derek started by cutten up Grace's food and noticed Meredith was a bit absent

"Mer, you okay?" Derek asked

"Just tired" She replied "And a headache"

"We should take those scans, I don't trust it" Derek said sternly

"After lunch" Meredith replied

"Mer, I really think we should go now" Derek sighed

"I- I said n-no!" Meredith replied

"Mommy okay?" Grace frowned

"Mommy's okay, baby" Derek softly smiled as his concern grew "Mer, look at me" Derek instructed

Meredith tried to but was feeling dizzy. Derek noticed something was wrong so yelled for help

"I-I'm o-okay" Meredith slurred and wanted to stand up. She looked like their daughter when she tried to stand up by herself. She was wobbly on her feet until she fell down and clearly had a seizure

"Derek, what the hell happened?" Miranda frowned as she came to help them

"She took a fall earlier. She said she was okay but this isn't okay. She-She's having a stroke" Derek lifted up his daughter in his arms

"Let us take care of her" Miranda looked terrified as other doctors came to help them out "Someone page Tom Koracick" She ordered as they lifted Meredith onto a gurney and wheeled her out.

Derek didn't know what to do. His daughter was crying uncontrollably. He hadn't even noticed that Alex had led him to a room

"She'll be okay" Alex rubbed Derek's back "She has to be"
