Chapter 31 - Family is everything

Ashwin immediately nodded his head as a No requesting her not to proceed.

But Sivaangi as always, without noticing his signal continued

"En kitta adi vaangarchayum ippadi dhaan nadipaaru aunty" Sivaangi finished breaking into giggles.

Sudha  looked at her son, clearly imagining his 6 feet hulk getting beatings from this 5 feet minion, she too broke into laughter and giggles, joined by her husband embarrassing Ashwin to the core.

Before they could continue the talks they heard two voices from the back entrance that leads towards their back yard.

"Hi appa, Hi amma, Hi thatha, Hi paati, the swimming pool here is so good, we had so much fun" they squealed drenching the carpet completely with their wetness.

"Hey, why did you come here before drying up? you have wetted the whole area" Sivaangi exclaimed getting up mid way from her breakfast

The kids looked down at the dripping water from their wet dress.

"Sorry!" they just shrugged,  clearly not actually sorry.

"Nee okkaru ma, appadiye avanga appa maari, avanum idhey dhaan pannuvaan, appo illa, ippayum kooda, I will take them and change their clothes" Sudha said

"Ayiyo, aunty, ungalukku edhukku kashtam, naan kootitu poren" Sivaangi said

"Please ma, I insist" said Ashwin's  mother with pleading eyes which made Sivaangi give up and sit back down.

Ashwin's  father turned towards the couple now with a more serious face.

"We need to talk, saaptutu back yard vaanga" he said getting up with his finished plate.

Ashwin and Sivaangi looked at each other confused but just nodded their heads.

"First of all I apologize now itself if any of my comments or statements are insensitive, I am a previous generation man and still struggling to accept and overlook your 21st century cultural differences" Lakshmikanthan said looking at the couple.

"Appa" Ashwin intervened little pissed.

"Iru Ashwin, enna pesa vidu, I think as a father I deserve that much" Lakshmikanthan stopped his son's interruption.

When Ashwin settled back down, his father continued.

"I am not here to analyze and talk about the past, whatever transpired between you two, nothing can be done about it now, I am here to talk about the future" he said

"First Ashwin, what are your plans? " he asked looking at his son

"As I said before, I am starting a restaurant in SG" he replied

"Adhu business, I agreed because it is a good investment, but how far you think it is going to impact your life" his father asked back.

"Sivaangi is still hesitant to move back to India pa, and I don't want to force her, so I will be moving there with her" he replied

"Appo un acting career? ippadi paadhila vittutu poga dhaan ivalo varusham kashta pattu poraadiniya?" his father asked little bit pissed.

"Illapa, my aim was never to do 100 films, oru padam panninaalum urupadiya pannanum, now I have done enough that has established myself as a good actor, I am satisfied" Ashwin replied with real content on his face.

Ashwin's father looked at Sivaangi who was looking at her finger nails all these times.

"Seri un plans ennama? " he asked
