𝙁𝙡𝘼𝙈𝙀 // 𝙀𝙑𝘼𝙉 𝘽𝙐𝘾𝙆𝙇𝙀𝙔

Twenty-one.

"You wanna go or will I?" Buck asked

"I'll go" Kate said, she knew it wasn't the answer he was expecting but their was more chance of her fitting though that window then him, if it was needed.

Buck lined up the ladder with the house, Kate began to climb it, it wobbled more then usual but she paid no attention to it.

The little boy hit his hands against the glass window calling out for help

"I'm coming, just stay there okay" Kate called out, she reached the extended part of the ladder, she'd barely had her foot on it before it collapsed from under her.

"Kate!" Buck ran from the truck and stood underneath her,

A small Yelp came from her as she felt her body dangle, she looked down and noticed bucks open arm.

Kate dropped the short distance, Landing on her feet. She patted her boyfriends chest "and they say chivalry is dead"

Buck focused on the gutter that stood a few feet away from them, noticing his best friend climb up it "Eddie what are you doing?

Kate whirled around, she watched with wide eyes as Eddie climbed onto the roof "Eddie what the hell are you doing!" She yelled

Eddie made it onto the roof safely, he wrapped a rope around the chimney, using it to repel himself through the glass window

"Oh my god" Kate gasped as she watched, "I'm gonna kill him"

"Uh, Cap, I got him. Alive but unconscious. I'm prepping for evac." Eddie's voice came over the radio.

"Cap, gas guys just showed up. They're shutting it down. All neighbors are present and accounted for. Two more engines are rolling in, but it makes no sense if there's no water pressure." Hen hurried over to them

A loud explosion came from behind then, the house lit up with fire and smoke. Kate watched with fear pumping through her blood, praying to God Eddie would make it out alive

"Cap! Negative on evac. Pinned down, south side of the house" Eddie's voice crackled,

"Eddie when you get out if there I'm gonna kill you" Kate warned,

Buck rushed over to the truck, yelling something about an extinguisher as he climbed up the truck "If I can make that jump, I can help Eddie!"

"Evan Buckley you are not going in their" Kate yelled,

Bobby stopped him, the sound of an approaching plane grabbed his attention "No, wait. Wait, is that..Incoming!"

"Everybody, take cover! Under the trucks now! Now! Go, go!" Hen yelled, directing everyone on where to go

"Hunker down. 217 is inbound." Bobby spoke into the radio

"Get under trucks people, now!" Kate yelled, she'd never had experience with one but after the earthquake she brushed up on her American fire fighter skills. Never wanting to feel so useless as a first responder again.

They all yelled to people to take cover, with only seconds left before the water was dropped, Kate slid under a truck and Buck followed, wrapping his arm around her head.
