I called another taxi to take me straight home so I could pack. I was going to be staying here every waking moment until this "assignment" was completed. I wish I lived under a rock right now because if I didn't get it done, Amanda would definitely kill me. Not only did Cyberlife's name depend on me but the country now apparently. What about Hyram? What would I tell him? Damn! Our dinner was completely ruined for a 5 minute conversation that could have been had tomorrow when I got in.

I pulled my phone from my purse and called his number. I listened as it rang and rang some more.

"Hi,-"

"Honey! Hey-"

"You've reached Hyram Myers. Please leave your name and number, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible." The phone beeped.

"Dammit! Hyram!" I called again, but still no answer. After 5 attempts I gave up. I hoped and prayed he was already home. I needed to talk to him face to face about this. I took multiple deep breaths trying to calm myself. I honestly felt like I was going to pass out, but I couldn't afford to.

The drive home felt like it was taking an eternity even though it should have only been a few minutes. I slowly started to feel as if the world was closing on me as my breathing began to get shallow and shaky. Now was not a good time for a panic attack. I tried my hardest to force it down, and with luck I pulled up in front of my apartment building. I got out cautiously my knees shaking with these heels, so I pulled them off and ploddingly  made my way to the elevator each step getting harder to take as it felt as if my muscles were turning to cinderblocks. I braced myself against the walls of the tiny box waiting for the doors to open to my penthouse. When they did I ran for it mustering whatever strength I had left.

"Open!" I shouted at our voice activated door.

"Welcome home, Ms. King," it said as the doorway stood ajar. As soon as my feet crossed the threshold, my vision blurred, and I collapsed.

"Silva! Silva wake up, baby please!" I opened my eyes slowly to see Hyram over me with tears streaming down his face. "Thank god!" He pulled me closer cradling me to his chest. I still felt unbelievably week, but for a moment all I could think about was him holding me. I listened to his elevated heartbeat as it began to drop. "What happened? Why were you unconscious in the middle of the floor?"

"I. . . I got a mission from President Warren." I looked up at Hyram who appeared just as stunned as I was when I heard the news.

"That's great - right?"

I had to choose my words carefully here, but there again I could trust him. I know he wouldn't tell a soul if I made him swear to it. "You cannot tell anyone! I not even our potted plants! Do you understand me?" I asked with urgency.

He looked confused for a moment then nodded.

"I've been tasked to create an entirely new android code for new android."

"Well the fact that the President wants a special android made-"

I cut him off. "It isn't for her. Remember that article about the android that attacked its owner? She's jumping the gun on security for such an event. She wants me to create an android that catch any others that might deviate from the program. . . A detective/hunter android." The words hung in the air as I said them.

Hyram was in complete shock. "Is that even legal?"

"With the President's sanction, it is."

"Holy shit. Well I guess I can't be too surprised. I mean, there are military androids, but they're sole purpose is to die on the frontlines. . ." his sentence drifted as he suddenly became very somber. "How long do you have to complete it?"
